GRATICE ELIZABETH HYLER WOODELL

ASHEBORO — Gratice Elizabeth Woodell, 70, died Wednesday (1/2/13) at Wake Forest Baptist Health Medical Center in Winston Salem.

She was born in Rockingham County, daughter of the late Arthur Hyler and Nora Hyler. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Stevens Woodell; and sister, Faye Hyler Suggs Henley.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Randolph Memorial Park.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelia Hill, and husband Donnie of Asheboro; sisters, Barbara Smith of Franklinville and Mary Brown and husband Garland of Bennett; brothers, Cecil Hyler and wife Betty Sue of Asheboro and Bobby Hyler of Staley; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the Ridge Funeral Home in Asheboro.

HALA MARIE ROBINETTE

PARKTON — Hala Marie Robinette, 84, of 7021 Ottis Lane, died Wednesday (12/19/12) at home.

She is survived by a son, Danny Robinette.

A private memorial service will be held Saturday. Burial will be at a later date in Lawrence, Ky.

FAYE GRAHAM HALL

SPRING LAKE — Funeral service for Faye Graham Hall, 76, who died Friday (12/28/12), was held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Olivia Presbyterian Church with the Rev. George Walton officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery.

Pianist was Holly Walton. Organist was Laura Jean Howard. A duet, consisting of Claudia Pace and Holly Walton, sang two selections, and the congregation also sang.

Active pallbearers were Steve Chrisco, Timmy Hickman, Larry Crisco, Trent Holt, Travis Holt and Tristan Holt.

Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

 

BESSIE IRENE MCARTHUR PHILLIPS

LILLINGTON — Bessie Irene McArthur Phillips, 84, died Wednesday (1/2/13) at the E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center in Lillington.

She was born on Oct. 14, 1928, to the late Douglas Carnell McArthur and Annie Thompson McArthur. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.

She is survived by her husband, Davie Lee Phillips; three sons, Rondell Phillips and wife Barbara of Sanford, Roger Phillips and wife Linda of Surfside Beach, S.C., and David Phillips and wife Terrie of Bremond, Texas; two daughters, Wanda Roberts and husband Larry, and Sandra Ikner, all of Sanford; a brother, Junior Ward of Pensacola, Fl.; a sister, Voncill Peitz of New Jersey; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Lillington.

Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Robbie O'Quinn officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

LILLIAN CAMERON

NEWARK, N.J. — Lillian Cameron, 76, of 900 Franklin Ave., formerly of Sanford, died Thursday (12/27/12) at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville Town, N.J.

She was born Oct. 30, 1936, in Sanford to the late William and Hettie Douglas. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gregory F. Cameron and Randy W. Cameron, and several siblings.

She is survived by one son, Stetton Cameron of Maysville, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Merman (Juanita) Douglas of Sanford; three sisters, Juanita (Videll) Donaldson and Mary Jane Prinee, both of Broadway; Annie Maggie Douglas of New York City; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chestnut AME Zion Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Chestnut Church Cemetery.
