Fellowship and coffee (or hot tea) each Sunday from 9:30-10 a.m. followed by Sunday Bible study from 10-10:45 a.m. Sunday worship begins at 11 a.m. The message Sunday is based on Isaiah 35:1-10, Luke 1:47-55, and James 5:7-10 and is titled, “We Don’t Just 'Grin and Bear It.’” The United Methodist Youth and the Junior MYF (formerly Pioneer Club) will be on hiatus until after the first of the year. The Christmas program will take place on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. followed by a soup and sandwich dinner. The celebration will consist of three parts: a presentation by the Junior MYF, a cantata by the choir, and a black light mime by the youth. The Junior MYF have created handmade Christmas ornaments and will have them for sale. Choir practice is at 7 p.m. weekly on Wednesdays. The weekly Thursday morning Bible study will be on hiatus until Thursday, Jan. 9. The first day back participants will study the birth narratives in Matthew and Luke. The third Sunday of Advent services will begin with Sunday School at 10 a.m. followed by the worship hour at 11 conducted by the pastor, Dr. Michael Johnson. His sermon will be a detailed study of the Christmas story as recorded in the Gospel of John, chapter 2. The Men's Fellowship will meet on Dec. 21 at 7:30 a.m. to assemble the fruit baskets for distribution on the following day. This Sunday there will be two services of Holy Eucharist, at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Fr. Craig J. Lister will officiate at both services. There is a nursery provided from 8:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. The Children will be practicing at 9 a.m. for the Christmas Pageant to be held at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
