Candlelight reflection ceremony casts light on Alzheimer’s disease
A candlelight reflection ceremony to cast light on Alzheimer’s disease will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at The Enrichment Center of Lee County, 1615 S. Third St.
November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month and National Family Caregiver Month. Candlelight reflections gives people the opportunity to honor and remember those who have died of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, those who have the disease now, and the family caregivers who give so lovingly and generously. The candlelight reflections ceremony is a way to demonstrate respect, concern and support for family caregivers and those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
There will be inspirational music, opening remarks to honor those with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, the sharing of information about Alzheimer’s disease, an inspirational reading of the Alzheimer’s Prayer, and lighting of the candles followed by a moment of silent reflection.
