Raleigh Exec holding a summer coloring contest for children

Aspiring young artists can show their creativity and maybe even win homemade ice cream in a summer coloring contest being held by Raleigh Exec: The Raleigh Executive Jetport at Sanford-Lee County.

The contest was created as a fun activity for children as summer begins to wind down.

“We have a lot of children come out to the jetport for field trips and occasionally they color aviation scenes,” says Cheri Swanson, who is coordinating the contest. “It’s always a big hit, so we thought this was something fun they could enjoy on their own. And, who knows, maybe it will get them interested in aviation.”

Children up to age 14 years may enter by coloring a plane on the official entry form. Copies are available at the jetport terminal and can be downloaded at raleighexec.com/contest.pdf.

One winner in each of three age divisions — 6 and under, 7 to 10 years and 11 to 14 years — will receive a $20 gift card for Yarborough’s Homemade Ice Cream in Sanford. Completed entries must be received at the jetport no later than Aug. 30 at 5 p.m.

All three winning entries and some others will be displayed in the terminal building this fall and posted to the Raleigh Exec Facebook page. Additional details are provided on the entry form.
