ELECTION 2014: Salmon to run for N.C. House seat
Harnett County attorney Brad Salmon announced his candidacy Saturday for the N.C. House District 51 — currently held by Rep. Mike Stone.
“I offer vision, values and a business friendly, moderate approach to government” Salmon said in a press release. His stated legislative priorities include “strengthening our economy, protecting our natural resources and building opportunity though providing an innovative, world class public education system.”
Salmon, a Democrat, ran an unsuccessful bid against N.C. Sen. Ronald Rabin for Senate District 12 during the 2012 election.
Salmon, a life-long resident of Harnett County, is a farmer and a member of a number of civic organizations.
District 51 is comprised of western Harnett County and a majority of Lee County.
