Shooting victim identified, listed in stable condition
A local man shot Monday afternoon has been identified and is in stable condition, according to Sanford police.
Omar Rueben Baylor, 29, of Sanford, is recovering after being shot in the side Monday afternoon at the intersection of Wall and Steele streets, said Sanford Police Department Capt. David Smith.
No arrests have been made in the case, but Smith confirmed detectives are working to identify a suspect. The suspect was riding a bike and used a handgun during the attack, he said.
Baylor is cooperating with the police during the investigation, Smith said.
Central Carolina Hospital Public Relations Director Crystal Hickman said she couldn't confirm Baylor's status Tuesday.
