Authorities seek suspect in attempted kidnapping
Moore County Sheriff Lane Carter is requesting the public’s help in identifying the suspect responsible for the attempted kidnapping of a 13-year-old child.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on March 14 near the intersection of River Road and Glendon-Carthage Road, according to authorities. This area is near the Moore, Lee and Chatham county lines in the Glendon area of Moore County.
The sheriff’s office reported that the suspect is described as a black man between 30 to 40 years old. He is bald and clean shaven. He stands between 5 feet, 10 inches and six feet tall, with a medium build and a medium to dark complexion. He was wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans with black boots. The victim describes him as having a deep voice.
The suspect was driving a dark-colored, older model small truck, possibly black or dark blue, according to the sheriff’s office. The truck is a two-wheel drive, two-door vehicle without an extended cab.
