Area schools getting ready for graduation exercises

Some will go straight to work, many will pursue a higher education and others will join the military. Regardless of their plans, hundreds of area high school seniors will come together with friends and family for commencement exercises in the coming weeks.

Lee Early College will hold its graduation at 6 p.m. today at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center.

The following is a listing of other high school graduations within the Central Carolina area.

LEE COUNTY

Lee County High School: Graduation at 7:30 p.m. on June 6 at the school

Southern Lee High School: Graduation at 7:30 p.m. on June 7 at the school

Bragg Street Academy: Tribute to seniors at 11:15 a.m. on Friday at the school

Floyd L. Knight: Seniors’ ceremony at 1 p.m. on May 31 at the school

Calvary United Pentecostal Church School: Graduation at 6 p.m. on June 2 at the school

Grace Christian School: Graduation at 7 p.m. on June 6 in the chapel sanctuary

Lee Christian School: Graduation at 7 p.m. on June 6 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center

CHATHAM COUNTY

Chatham Central High School: Baccalaureate ceremony at 7 p.m. on June 2 in the school auditorium, graduation ceremony at 7 p.m. on June 7 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center

Jordan-Matthews High School: Baccalaureate ceremony at 7 p.m. on June 2 in the school auditorium, graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. on June 8 at the school.

Northwood High School: Baccalaureate ceremony at 6 p.m. on June 2 in the school auditorium, graduation ceremony 11 a.m. on June 8 at Carmichael Arena at UNC Chapel Hill.

SAGE Academy: Graduation ceremony 3 p.m. on June 7 in the school auditorium.

Project Graduation will be held at Northwood High School on Saturday, June 8, for all Chatham County Schools seniors who signed up to attend. Seniors can invite parents and guests. HARNETT COUNTY

All Harnett County graduation ceremonies will take place at Campbell University’s arena, the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center. Parking is available on site, and guests will need a ticket to attend.

Harnett Central High School: 7:30 p.m. on June 7

Overhills High School: 10 a.m. on June 8

Triton High School: 2 p.m. on June 8

Western Harnett High School: 6 p.m. on June 8

MOORE COUNTY

Moore County’s three public schools will hold their graduations on campus, at the football stadium or inside if the weather turns bad. Guests must have a ticket to attend.

Union Pines High School: Graduation at 8 p.m. on June 7

North Moore High School: Graduation at 7 p.m. on June 7

Pinecrest High School: Graduation at 8 a.m. on June 8

The O’Neal School: Baccalaureate ceremony at 6 p.m. today at Brownson Presbyterian Church, and commencement at 6 p.m. Friday in Owens Auditorium at Sandhills Community College
