Deb McManus, former N.C. District 54 representative, pleaded guilty today to one felony count of aiding and abetting the embezzlement of state property, according to the N.C. Department of Revenue.

She reportedly was placed on unsupervised probation for 36 months and ordered to pay restitution of $70,474.41, perform 100 hours of community service and pay a $10,000 fine. A prison term — 16 months minimum, 29 months maximum — was suspended.

McManus resigned in December after being arrested on tax charges relating to her work as a bookkeeper for her husband’s medical practice.
