City Council considers tax increase
City Manager Hal Hegwer went over the proposed budget for the new fiscal year at Tuesday's City Council meeting.
A 5 cent property tax increase was among the most prominent changes to the budget, as well as a fee increase of $75 and the creation of a new IT system analyst position. The city is also considering borrowing up to $965,000 to alleviate the stress on the city's fund balance.
The council also voted to appoint Byron Buckles to fill the vacant seat of Walter McNeil Jr.
