A ticket sold this week at a Sanford convenience store carries a $367,000 prize, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery, but the winner had yet to claim the windfall as of Wednesday afternoon.

The holder of the lucky Cash 5 lottery ticket bought it at the Kangaroo Express (Pantry #105) store at 809 Carthage St., said Lottery spokesperson Van Denton. The drawing was Tuesday night, he said, and the winning numbers were 12, 16, 22, 31 and 36.

He added that the odds of winning the jackpot in the game are one in 575,757.

Store associate Donna Dowdy said the Lottery had informed staff of the good news.

"Wer're so excited about that ... ," Dowdy said. "There's a lot of disadvantaged people in this town; that's a blessing to someone."

The ticket holder has a 180-day window to come forward, Denton said. An original winning ticket must be presented and verified in order for the prize to be paid, according to the Lottery. To learn more about the game and how to claim a prize, see
