No injuries were reported in a fire that consumed a home at 4577 Edwards Road, Sanford, Thursday afternoon. Three occupants were in the home when the fire broke out, which was some time between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., and all three reportedly escaped unharmed by jumping out of the front window of the one-story house. According to Lemon Springs Fire Chief Reid Cagle, the cause of the fire remains under investigation. He described the fire as 'totally involved,' which resulted in the loss of the home and a car parked in the driveway. He said the department was dealing with 'hot spots' more than an hour after first responders arrived at the scene, but that the fire was mostly under control within 15 minutes of the first two trucks’ arrival.
