Sanford fireworks postponed again, will be held Saturday
After originally being postponed from Independence Day until today, Lee County's biggest fireworks show is being postponed again, until Saturday, due to soggy conditions.
The Ammons Farm annual July 4 celebration — which consists of a fireworks display preceded by food, live music and other entertainment — will be the July 13 fireworks show this year as long as it doesn't get postponed again. Cindy Ammons said the attractions and schedule will all remain the same except for the date of the show, with the celebration beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday and fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m.
Ammons said the field is still too wet to host a crowd, but she's hoping the ground will be more inviting next weekend.
The festivities will take place next to Sanford Health and Rehabilitation, at 2702 Farrell Rd.
