The First Bank branch on Plaza Boulevard was reportedly robbed at gunpoint Thursday, and the suspect is still at large, according to authorities.

A black man, described as wearing a navy blue hoodie, jeans and some sort of mask, entered the bank, located at 1333 Plaza Blvd., five minutes before the bank closed at 5 p.m., according to Sanford Police Capt. Harold Layton.

The suspect pulled out his gun, demanded money and the bank employees complied with his demand, Layton said. The suspect left on foot, in an unknown direction, with an undisclosed amount of money.

No injuries were reported, he said.

Sanford Police officers were searching nearby Spring Lane Cinema and Applebee's parking lots, and a suspect had not been located an hour after the incident.
