Arrest made in woman's shooting death in Cary
Authorities say a 36-year-old man wanted in the shooting death of a woman in a parking lot in Cary has been arrested.
Police said in a news release that Daniel Remington was taken into custody Saturday night by officers in Fayetteville who saw his car at a home and tracked him down with a police dog.
Remington has been charged with murder in the death of 58-year-old Wendy Johnson around 11 p.m. Friday.
Cary Police did not give a motive for the shooting. It is the fourth homicide in 2014. The town investigated just one homicide in 2011 and 2013, and no suspicious deaths in 2012.
Remington has been turned over to police in Cary. It wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
