Police arrest two, seize drugs and weapons

More than 550 grams of marijuana and six weapons were seized in a local motel room last week, resulting in the arrest of two Sanford men.

Walter Allen Walker Jr., 29, of 313 Green St., Sanford, and Tarell Franchon Flow, 25, of 1109 Juniper St., Sanford were both charged with several drug charges Dec. 27, according to a Sanford Police Department Tactical Narcotics Team release.

During a search of Room 201E at the Palomino Motel, police seized 588 grams of marijuana, four handguns, two assault-style weapons and an undisclosed amount of money, according to TNT Sgt. Scott Hunt. The marijuana has a street value of $5,500 and the two men were arrested without incident, he said.

Walker and Flow were both charged with possession with intent to sell marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, maintaining a dwelling to keep drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the report. Both were taken to Lee County Jail and held under a $40,000 bond.

In an unrelated incident on Dec. 26, five local teenagers — Jonathan Trevor Herbert, 17, of 510 Summitt Drive; Mariah Paige Rockwell, 17, of 2208 Piedmont Drive; Joshua Arrington Fox, 17, of 207 Arrington Circle; Marquise Levelle Dalrymple, 18, of 604 N. Steele St. and Andres Salagado, 19, of 115 Lochmere Drive — were arrested on drug charges after being charged breaking and entering.

All five were charged with possession with intent to sell marijuana, felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the release.
