The Boomer, Senior & Caregiver Expo is the premier event in the area catering to this market. All adults are welcome to attend. There are several new vendors and sponsors this year. Tell us more about your theme of “Living Well.”

Everything offered at the Boomer, Senior & Caregiver Expo focuses on Living Well, and is free. At the top of the list are the free health screenings. Proactive and preventative healthcare, which includes screenings, will keep you in touch with your body’s health needs and concerns. The educational seminars offered at the Expo focus on today’s health and wellness concerns and are presented by professionals in their field. From “Treatment for Ringing in the Ears,” by Dr. Angela Bright Pearson, Bright Audiology, to “Protect Your Financial Future,” by Barbara Bennett, N.C. Dept. of The Secretary of State/Securities Division, you will be more informed after hearing from these professionals. Hobbies, pet therapy, pampering and salon services help us maintain, “Living Well.” Many vendors will offer information and free services on this day. All adults will have an opportunity to experience resources and information from businesses first-hand all under one roof. A list of the free screenings and seminars will be in The Herald’s Boomer, Senior & Caregiver special insert on Aug. 24.

Why is it important for the Boomer, Senior & Caregiver audience to attend an event such as this? Foremost, having 100+ vendors under one roof providing information and resources face to face happens only once a year in Lee County. Whether you are active and healthy Baby Boomers currently “Living Well,” a senior who has recently retired or is still working or a family caregiver needing assistance in caring for a loved one, the Boomer, Senior & Caregiver Expo will provide all attendees with resources, health screening results and knowledge. Each year this event provides its audience with quality services, products, respite and wellness options and lots of fun. Surveys and suggestions maintain an up-to-date focus with the ever-changing needs of this population. Attendees will experience time face to face with multiple vendors and walk away with resources, information and extras to take home.

How can a business or agency get involved in the Boomer, Senior and Caregiver Expo?

We usually have approximately 100 vendors every year with a waiting list. It is very important to get your name on the list a year ahead. Call or email Judi Womack at (919) 776-0501, ext. 2230 or jwomack@leecountync.gov. We wish we could accommodate everyone; however, we are limited on space and must secure vendors on a first-paid basis. Everyone who attends and participates in this event benefits and has fun.
