TAMMY LEIGH PRESSLEY DAWSON
CAMERON — Mrs. Tammy Leigh Pressley Dawson, age 54, of Cameron, N.C., died Thursday, March 6, 2014, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Mrs. Dawson was born on Sept. 9, 1959, in Yeager, West Virginia, to the late Bobby Merriel Pressley and Lois Jean Pruett Bellomy. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Jean Bellomy.
She is survived by her husband, Danny Joe Dawson of Cameron, N.C.; her mother and stepfather, Lois Jean Bellomy and William Keith Bellomy of Broadway, N.C.; daughters, Billiejo Johnson (Thomas Wesley Milligan) and Maejean Hunter (Joseph), all of Cameron, N.C.; a brother, Charles Presley of Godwin, N.C.; two sisters, Sissie Smith and Ruthie Solberg, both of Cameron; five grandchildren, Christy Milligan, Laura Leigh Milligan, A.J. Hunter, D.J. Hunter and Lee Hunter; and one great-grandson, Ethan Milligan.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 9, 2014, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Monday, March 10, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Johnsonville Church of God with Mr. Ray Moore officiating.

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Carolyn West of Charleston, S.C. passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014.
She was born in Sanford, N.C. to Lee and Sandra West on August 8, 1973.
Carolyn graduated from Lee County High School in 1991. She received an Associate Degree from Sandhills Community College in 2013, where she graduated with honors in accounting.
Carolyn’s passion was centered around her acting career. She appeared in Forrest Gump, The Gingerbread Man, and The Cradle Will Rock, and other productions. She also performed stand-up comedy and was a radio disc jockey.
Carolyn is survived by her parents, Lee West of Sanford and Sandra West of Aberdeen. She is also survived by her sister, Pamela Driscoli (husband Gerald); adored nephews, Joshua and Joseph of Matthews, N.C. and a half-brother, Fredrick Link of Brunswick, Ga.

A memorial service will be held at Saint Michael’s Episcopal Church, Charleston, S.C. on March 11 at 10 a.m.

LILLINGTON — John Ryan Parker, 8 month old infant of Harnett County, the son of Madison Parker and Monique Horton, died Wednesday (3/5-/14) at UNC Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at Holly Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Parsons and Bishop Stephen Athens officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at Holly Springs Baptist Church, and other times at the home of Johnny Parker and the home of Brandon Horton.
In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his grandparents, Brandon and Jamie Horton, and Johnny and Donna Parker; two uncles, three aunts; great-grandparents, A.J. and Sharon Mason, Dennis and Jackie Wilcox, Randy Horton, Rudy and Hope Contreras, and Tim and Tammy Phares.

SANFORD — Melinda Gail Phillips, 45, of Sanford, died Wednesday (3/5/14) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Shepherds Flock Baptist Church.
She was born in Lee County, a daughter of the late William David Phillips Sr. and Doris Sloan Phillips.
She is survived by four children, Nicole Allen, Kinsey Lowe, Joshua Lowe and Kassie Lowe; sisters, Sheila Phillips and Marsha Gaster; brothers, Charlie Joas and David Phillips Jr.; and four grandchildren.
The family will greet friends following the service and other times at 3987 Chris Cole Road.

SANFORD — A Rite of Christian Burial and Mass of Resurrection was held for Dugan Pete Smith (U.S. Army, Ret. SPC) at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Saint Stephen Roman Catholic Church with Father Jim Fukes officiating.
Special words of remembrance were given by Deborah Morgan during the service.
Pianist for the service was Evie Dooley.
Full military honors were given following the service.
