HOUMA, LA — Alycia Watson Mabile, 69, died Friday, August 8, 2014 at 3:45 a.m. She was a native of Sanford, NC and resident of Houma, LA.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jonesboro Cemetery in Sanford, N.C (8/13/2014). A reception will follow at Jonesboro Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Houma, LA. The family received friends Monday, August 11, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church prior to the funeral service.

She is survived by her spouse: O'Neil J. Mabile; daughter Sonja B. Pellegrin and husband Brian, son Kirt P. Burns and wife Pam, stepchildren, Melanie Mabile Mulcahy and husband Randy, Melissa Mabile Moreau and husband Mark; sister Jean Watson Breaux and husband John; brother Trae Watson and wife Karen; grandchildren, Brandon and Brett Pellegrin, and Alaina Burns, step-grandchildren, Amber Baker Villarreal and husband Ricky, Monique Baker Beyer and husband Mark, Reilly and Finley Mulcahy and Jackson and Harrison Moreau, four step-great-grandchildren, Gwen Villarreal and Emily, Ella, and Tripp Beyer, sister-in-law Marvel Mabile Allred and special sister-in-law Mary Jo Thomas Hargrove and husband Wayne, nephew Mark Breaux and nieces Jessica Arabie and Laura Watson.

She was preceded in death by her father Ernest "Lem" Watson; mother Imogene Lackey Watson, and son Tracy Lynn Burns.

Alycia attended East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. and completed her education at Nichols State University with a B.S. degree in Accounting. While at Nicholls she joined the Delta Sigma Pi professional business fraternity. She worked in the accounting field for over 40 years until her retirement and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Houma, LA.

SANFORD — Mrs. Fumiko Usuki Keiser, age 89, of Sanford, NC, died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at her home.

She was born on Tokyo, Japan on March 23, 1923, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Hisato Usuki. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Benton Keiser Jr.; son, John Benton Keiser III and daughter, Peggy Clarke.

Mrs. Keiser was a homemaker.

She is survived by a son, Joseph Leroy Keiser and wife Debbie of Supply, NC; grandchild, Jennifer Keiser Perry and husband Christopher and great-grandchild, Jacob Corbin Perry.

Funeral service will be held Friday, August 15, 2014 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Chaplain Joel Cameron officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service also on Friday at the funeral home.

CARTHAGE — Mary Jewell Brown, 71, of Carthage died Friday (8/8/14) at FirstHealth Hospice House of Pinehurst.

A celebration of life will be held today at 6 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Bibey officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

She was born in Carthage on June 9, 1943, to George and Pearl Reynolds Belton. She spent her working career with Perdue Farms. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Roger Brown; her parents, George and Pearl Reynolds Belton; sister, Polly Medlin.

She is survived by her children, Cathy Clark, Tammy Hudson, Carol Smith, Billy Brown and Roger Brown, all of Carthage; sisters, Pat Oliver, Shirley Moore, Betty Kivett, Thelma Blue, Sara Culler and Emmalee McNeill; brother, Bill Belton; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a host of friends.

FAYETTEVILLE — Diannia Wenger, 52, of 1445 Lark Hill Drive, Fayetteville, died Thursday (8/7/14) at home.

She is survived by a son, Donald Christopher Wenger; daughter, Erin Elizabeth Beasley; mother, Judy Wenger; father, Donald Wenger; sisters, Tammy Williamson and Donna Brigman; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Cunningham & Son’s Mortuary Chapel in Fayetteville.

BUIES CREEK — James (Jim) Carl Rosser, 80, of Buies Creek, died Wednesday (7/9/14) at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

He was born Oct. 25, 1933 in Lee County to the late Irvin and Lucille Gregory Rosser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Curtis (Leon) Rosser, William (Bill) Rosser, Irvin P. (Tim) Rosser and Jerry Rosser.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby Best Rosser; daughter, Carla Webb and husband Todd of King George, Va.; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Barbara Walton of Sanford.

He was a graduate of Georgia Tech with a degree in Industrial Engineering.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at The Campbell House, 4579 U.S. Hwy. 421 South, Lillington.

SILER CITY — Linda Riddle Ellington, 68, of Siler City died Saturday (8/9/14) at UNC Hospitals.

She was born in Chatham County on Nov. 25, 1945, the daughter of Roy and Ollie (Fields) Riddle. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and was retired from the Country Mart. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James R. Riddle.

She is survived by her husband, Carson Ellington; daughter, Kim Holshouser and husband Rodney O'Quinn of Gulf; son, Robbie Holshouser; stepchildren, Melissa and B.J. Ellington; one sister; two brothers; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Goldston.

SANFORD — Shelby Jean McNeill McLeod, 75, of Sanford, died Monday (8/11/14) at her home.

She was born in Harnett County, daughter of the late Robert Martin McNeill and Adelaide Buchanan McNeill. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John McLeod; daughter, Susan Louise McLeod; and an infant daughter. She was a member of Jonesboro United Methodist Church and an avid walker around the Jonesboro area.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jonesboro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hunter Preston and the Rev. Doug Houston officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

She is survived by a son, Jeffrey McLeod of Sanford; sisters, Barbara McNeill Kelly and Judy McNeill Cox, both of Sanford, and Bonnie McNeill Gaster of Broadway.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at Jonesboro United Methodist Church and other times at the family home.

SANFORD — A Celebration of Life Service was held for Richard Dennis South at 2 p.m. Sunday at Miller–Boles Funeral Home Chapel.

Commander Don Causey from the America Legion Post 382 was the speaker at the service. Military honors were given and after the folding of the American Flag, it was presented to his wife, Sherry South.

Other family and friends also spoke at the service.
