HOUMA, La. — Graveside service for Alycia Watson Mabile, 69, who died Friday (8/8/14), was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jonesboro Cemetery by the Rev. Keith Miller.

LILLINGTON — Robert (Bobby) T. Clack Sr. died Monday (8/11/14) at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

He was born Oct. 1, 1937 in Banks County, Ga., to Lee and Ebbie Clack and moved to North Carolina. He served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. In addition to serving in Vietnam and other operations, he served a one year deployment in Korea, serving with Special Forces, providing operational support to the 501st Military Intelligence Brigade. Upon honorably completing his military service and retiring, he served the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission, serving as store manager of the Lillington ABC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Ebbie Clack, and four siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Clack; three sons, Robbie Clack and wife Sandy, and Chuck Clack and wife Cindy, all of Lillington, and David Clack and wife Amy of Brunswick, Ga.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from Friday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Lillington Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, followed by funeral services held in the sanctuary at 2 p.m.

FAYETTEVILLE — Glendell Williams, 75, of Muscat Road, Hope Mills, died Tuesday (8/12/14) at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville.

He is survived by his daughters, Vickie Lilly and Shante Arrington; son, Troy Moore; and sisters, Iola Wilson, Susie Chavis, Ruth Barner and Lillian Maynor.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Union Oaks AME Zion Church in Hope Mills. Burial will follow at Graham Family Cemetery in Fayetteville.

A visitation will be held today from 5 to 6 p.m. at Cunningham & Son’s Mortuary.

FAYETTEVILLE — Annie Chapel, 81, of 2464 Legion Road, Fayetteville, died Wednesday (8/13/14) at Cumberland Nursing Home & Rehab Center in Fayetteville. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Cunningham & Son’s Mortuary in Fayetteville.


SANFORD — A memorial service for Shirley Stanley, who died Friday (8/8/14), will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of St. Stephens Catholic Church.


BEAR CREEK — Bobbie Louise Phillips, 79, of Bear Creek died Tuesday (8/12/14) at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Fall Creek Baptist Church in Bennett with the Rev. Scott Allmon officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

She was born in Chatham County and was the daughter of the late Willis Chaffin Neal and Jessie McKenzie Neal. She had worked at C&A in Siler City, Townsends in Mt. Vernon Springs, Quality Mills in Carthage, and was a caregiver to others. She was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Odell Phillips; sister, Beatrice Beal; and one grandson.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Hughes and husband Steve of Bear Creek; son, Mike Neal and wife Joan of Bear Creek; sisters, Lois Oldham, Marie Barber and Ann Thomas and husband Larry, all of Bear Creek; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday from 12 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

RALEIGH — Sharon James, 62, of 3216 Quiet Mill Road, Raleigh, died Wednesday (8/6/14) at Crabtree Rehabilitation Center in Raleigh.

She was born Jan. 19, 1952 in Harlem, N.Y., to Juanita Howard and Frank James.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at C.E. Willie Funeral Chapel. Viewing will be held one hour prior to service.

She is survived by three brothers, Frank James Jr., Duane James and Keenan James; three sisters, Sandra James, Karen Heyward and Francene James-Franklin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
