CHALES ROBERT JONES

BENNETT — Charles Robert Jones, 65, of 2538 Fall Creek Church Road, Bennett, died Thursday (2/27/14) at his residence.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at Fall Creek Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Scott Allmon and the Rev. John Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

He was a Chatham County native and had worked as a Project Inspector. He retired from the construction unit of the North Carolina Department of Transportation after 31 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gordon Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Trudy Pearce Jones; daughter, Nicole Jones Coates and husband Steven of Bennett; son, Aaron Jones and wife Christy of Bennett; five grandchildren; his mother, Doshie Maness Jones of Bennett; sister, Linda J. Brady and husband Gene of Bennett, and four nieces.

Visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Joyce-Brady Chapel in Bennett, and other times at his home.

FAYETTEVILLE — Patricia R. Wilridge, 48, of 1222 Weeping Willow Way, Fayetteville, died Saturday (2/22/14) at home.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Rich and Donquiez Wilridge; sisters, Tracy Lockhart and Perdita Rich; and brothers, Curtis Rich and Alexander Rich.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Cunningham & Sons Mortuary Chapel in Fayetteville.

SANFORD — Funeral service for Perkins Lynn Reaves, 60, who died Sunday (2/23/14), was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Bruce Petty officiating. Burial was at the Jonesboro Cemetery.

The church choir sang.

Pallbearers were friends of the family.

RICHMOND, Va. — Callie F. Phillips of Richmond, Va., died Wednesday (2/19/14).

She is survived by her sister, Myrtle Whitehead; brother, Roscoe Farrell Jr.; daughter, Vickie Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Hanks Chapel UCC. The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.

WILLLIAM TAYLOR

BROADWAY — William “Sap” Taylor, 83, of Broadway, died Friday (2/28/14) at his home.

He was born in Person County, the son of Edna Taylor. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Emma Jean Taylor; daughter, Edna Ruth Taylor, and a sister, Ora Mae Williams. He owned and operated Taylor’s Grocery in Broadway for several years. He was very active in the Little Tarheel Baseball League in Sanford and was elected to the Little Tarheel League Hall of Fame in 1997. He was a charter member of the Western Harnett Booster Club.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Broadway with the Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Holly Springs Baptist Church Multipurpose Building Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. and other times at his home.

He is survived by sons, William Russell Taylor and wife Joan of Lillington, and Edward “Pee Wee” Taylor and wife Donna of Broadway; daughter, Barbara Jean Dickens and husband Alvin of Broadway; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

STANLEY WARMBROD

CARTHAGE — Stanley Warmbrod, 65, of Carthage died Wednesday (2/12/14) at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Carthage conducted by the Rev. Rick Martindale. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Fry and Prickett Funeral home from 2 to 2:45 p.m.

Born in Washington, D.C., he was a son of the late Colonel Karlton and Celeste Warmbrod. He in construction. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Beekman Warmbrod.

He is survived by a daughter, Katherine Price and husband David of Savannah, Ga.; sons, Max Warmbrod and wife Natalie of Asheville and Phillip Warmbrod of Carthage; brothers, Hal “Bud” Warmbrod and wife Tina of Wendell, and Richard Warmbrod of Whispering Pines; sisters, Faye Warmbrod and wife Jane of Whispering Pines, and Anne Bunce and husband Wiley of Whispering Pines; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
