ROBERT LEE LEMMOND SR.

SANFORD — Robert “Bob” Lee Lemmond Sr., age 87, of Sanford, N.C. died on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at his home in Sanford.

Bob was born on November 8, 1925 in Lee County, N.C. to the late Walter Van Lemmond Sr. and Eula Ansell Lemmond. He was a veteran of his country and served in the United States Army during WWII. Bob was a charter member of Emmanuel Congregational Christian Church in Sanford. He was also a lifetime member of the V.F.W., the Civitan Club, Disabled American Veterans, a Shriner and Mason. Robert also was a member of the Northview Fire Department for over 25 years where he served in the past as the secretary and treasurer. He held a distinguished membership with the Civitans and Mason where he served for over 52 years.

He is survived by his son, Robert Lee Lemmond Jr. of Sanford; a son-in-law, Gary Bridges and wife Debbie of Kingsport, TN; two grandchildren: Jeff Bridges and his wife Laura Ashley, and Aimee Bridges; and three great-grandchildren: Charlie, Ellen, and Savannah Bridges; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a very special friend, Elinor Ankrom of Sanford, N.C.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gerri W. Lemmond and two daughters, Deborah Lynn Lemmond and Ellen Lemmond Bridges, as well as three brothers and four sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Barry Drum officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Lee Memory Gardens in Sanford. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 4-6 p.m. at Miller-Boles Funeral Home in Sanford.

JANET FERGUSON WEBER

PINEHURST — Janet Ferguson Weber, 66, of Pinewild in Pinehurst, N.C., died July 12 at the First Health Hospice House in Pinehurst after a short and courageous battle with brain cancer.

Janet graduated from North Penn High School in 1964 and from Bucknell University in 1968. On August 24, 1968, she was united in marriage to Robert Francis Weber of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Janet touched many lives as a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, friend, and High School English teacher. Before living in Pinehurst, Janet lived for many years in Brookstone in Acworth, Georgia, where she became an avid golfer and volunteer. Janet was known for both her beauty and her intellect, and enjoyed reading, traveling with her husband, and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Bob Weber of Pinehurst; two children, Susan Weber (Carter) Keller of Sanford and Robert Wesley Weber of Raleigh; three grandchildren, William Carter Keller Jr, Hannah Ferguson Keller, and Sarah Rhys Keller; her mother, Ruth Clyde Ferguson of Southern Pines; a brother, Thomas Rex Ferguson of Hickory; two sisters, Lynne Ferguson Bost of Mebane and Ruth Ann Ferguson Borrell of Southern Pines. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas William Ferguson Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held at Southern Pines United Methodist Church on Tuesday, July 16, at 1:00. Visitation will be at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines, N.C. from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16.

PAMELA FAYE TAYLOR

CARTHAGE — Pamela Frye Taylor, 66, died Wednesday (7/10/13) at her residence.

Arrangements are incomplete at this time.

A native of Moore County, she was the daughter of the late Franklin O. Frye and Doris Frye. She was a graduate of Sandhills Community College and worked as a nurse for Dr. Davenport in Pinehurst and Dr. Mulholland in Shallotte and various nursing homes.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Stewart of Bolivia and Karen Taylor of Carthage; one son, Todd Carson and wife Connie of Broadway; two sisters, Susan Bethard of Eugene, Mo., and Conley Frye of Land O’ Lakes, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren.

SILER CITY — Maxine Bowden, 96, of 1315 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., died Thursday (7/11/13) at Genesis Rehab & Nursing Home in Siler City. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Knotts & Son of Siler City.

MARION V. GREEN

SPRING LAKE — Marion V. Green, 59, of 134 Gladiola Drive, died Friday (7/5/13) at Betsy Johnson Hospital.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Liberty Chapel Church in Spring Lake. Burial will be at a later date.

She is survived by a son, Barry Green (Rachel); sisters, Cathy Stauffer, Leslie Neetz and Cheryl Chappell; brothers, Brian Wanamaker, Anthony Wanamaker and Michael Wanamaker; and two grandchildren.

FLOYD W. HORTON

PITTSBORO — Funeral service for Floyd W. Horton, 57, who died Sunday (7/7/13), was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Terrell’s Chapel AME Zion Church in Pittsboro with the Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.

Musician was Mary Moffitt.

Pallbearers were friends and family.

Arrangements were by Knotts Funeral Home.
