ROBERT JONATHAN PERSON

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Robert Jonathan Person, 87, died on Monday (1/20/2014).

He is survived by his wife Ruby F. Person, his sons Dwight Slayton (Cathy) and Robert E. Person, his daughter Tanya P. Lewis (Morris), two sisters Thelma Tennin and Gladys, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a hot of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at St. John CME Church, 2801 Stanton Rd. SE, Washington, D.C., 20020. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service and interment is at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

 

JAMES N. THOMAS

SANFORD — James N. Thomas, of Sanford, died Friday (1/24/2014) at his home.

He was preceded by his parents Hazel and William Thomas, of Sanford.  Survivors include a son James Sheets, brother John Thomas of Sanford and sisters Toni Rose of Raleigh and Vivian Oxendine of Tennessee. Arrangements are incomplete.

Arrangements are by Carl Barnekow Funeral Service in Knightdale. 

 

GARY E. KEILY

CAMERON — Gary E. Keily, 75, died Saturday (1/25/2014) at his home.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

 

LILLIE HEADEN ALSTON

SILER CITY — Lillie Headen Alston, 63, of 192 John Snipes Road, Siler City, died Wednesday (1/22/2014) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Funeral arranagements will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at First Missionary Baptist Church in Siler City. Burial in Chatham Memorial Park.

Survivors include her husband Arthur Lee “Donnell” Alston of the home, her children Angela Alston, Kenneth Alston and Tracy Alston, all of Siler City, sister Mary Goldston (Howard) of Pittsboro, brothers Floyd Headen (Zelda) of Tampa, Fla., and Gene Headen of Siler City and nine grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Knots & Son Funeral Home of Siler City.


JASMINE TE'YONNA WICKER

SANFORD — Jasmine Te’Yonna Wicker, 20, of 4117 Carson Drive, Sanford, died Wednesday (1/22/14) in Moore County.

She is survived by her her mother, Shonda Moncrease (Mike); her father, Timothy Wicker (Janice); brothers, Maurice Wicker, Timothy Wicker Jr., Tyrese Wicker and Desmond Wicker; sisters, Jakirah Moncrease and Kaleyah Wicker; maternal grandparents, Marcelene Watson and Clarence Watson; paternal grandparents, Barbara Jean Cubey (Richard) and Kenny Wicker (Mary); several aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Works For Christ Christian Center, Sanford. Burial will follow in Lee Memory Garden, Sanford.

Arrangements are by Knotts Funeral Home.


MARGIE LOUISE BISHOP ATKINS

SANFORD — Funeral service for Margie Louise Bishop Atkins, 84, of the Deep River Community, who died Tuesday (1/21/2014) was held at 2 p.m. Friday at Flat Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Gary McCollough and Jerry Atkins officiating.

Burial followed at Lee  Memory Gardens in Sanford, N.C.

Organist was Gail Luck and the pianist was Leonard Harris. A duet was sung by Candice Atkins Wolfenbarger and Lydia Atkins Farmer. The congregation also sang two hymns.

Pallbearers were Aaron Atkins, Al Atkins, Clayton Atkins, Casey Atkins, Eli Riddle and Alex Riddle.

Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
