SANFORD — Mrs. Julia Gantt “Judi” White, age 69, of Sanford, NC, died Monday, February 3, 2014 at the First Health Hospice House in Moore County.
She was born in Catawba County, NC on January 25, 1945 to the late Howard Harding Gantt and Irene Stafford Gantt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Scott Huffman and sister, Nancy Carolyn Killian. Judi worked in the cafeteria at Deep River School for a short period of time. She was a homemaker for most of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Troy Clyde “T.C.” White, Jr.; son, Jason Kyle White of Sanford; daughter-in-law, Lorrie Weeks Huffman of Sanford; brother, Greylan Marvin Gantt of Hickory; and grandchildren, Brandon Scott Huffman, Taylor Lorraine Huffman and Jason Brandon White.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Crossroads Ministries in Broadway with Pastor Ryan Barbato and Mrs. Mardie Sauls officiating. Entombment will follow at Lee Memory Gardens Chapel Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and at other times at the family home.

ALLEN COY CAMPBELL
SOUTHPORT — Allan Coy Campbell died Saturday (2/1/14).
He was born in Chatham County to Grady and Estelle Campbell on May 23, 1925, and made Chatham County his home for more than 60 years. He was a decorated Army veteran of W.W. II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Campbell.
He is survived by his children, Mike Campbell and wife Dorothy, Don Campbell and wife Nancy, and Joan Campbell Triplett and husband Ron; five grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Salem Baptist Church in Pittsboro. The family will receive guests following the service in the church fellowship hall.

MARY OLA DAVIS THURMAN
STALEY — Mary Ola Davis Thurman, 92, of Bish Road, Staley, died Monday (2/3/14) at Chatham Hospital, Inc. in Siler City.
She was born in Warren County, Tenn., on Dec. 5, 1921, the daughter of Will and Flossie Mae (Emery) Davis. She was a homemaker and member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Thurman; her parents; son, Martin Thurman; and one grandchild.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Purvis and husband Joe of Bennett and Linda Phillips and husband Robert of Siler City; three sons, Earl Thurman of Sanford, Larry Thurman and wife Diane of Siler City, and Jerry Thurman and wife Malinda of Silk Hope; two brothers, Edward Davis of Nashville, Tenn., and Aubra Davis and wife Billie of Bennett; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home and other times at the family home.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Piney Grove United Methodist Church in Siler City with the Rev. Jim Folks officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Park.

CAMERON — Jennie Ruth Underwood Vogel, 71, of Cameron died Monday (2/3/14) at First Health Hospice House in Moore County.
She was born in Lee County on May 2, 1942, to the late Nelson Underwood and Ethel Helms Underwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Vogel Sr. She retired as an associate with K-Mart.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald Vogel Jr. and wife Debbie, and Bobby Womack and wife Susan, all of Sanford; three daughters, Barbara Page and husband Kenny, and Tina Barker, all of Sanford, and Linda Marks and husband Ray of Cameron; a brother, Cecil Ray Underwood and wife Barbara of Sanford; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday at Faith Baptist Church and other times at the home of Linda and Ray Marks. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Willie Bryant officiating at Faith Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert J. Cox.
She is survived by her husband, Delano McDougal; daughters, Hazel, Cathy, Annette (Ronnie) and Tammie (Coley); sons, Roscoe, Ken and Gary Sherman (Katie); 20 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Louis McDougald (Carolyn) of Vanceboro; three sisters-in-law, Althea McDougal of Broadway, Annie Ruth Nelson of Sanford and Lucy McDougal of Cary; two brothers-in-law, Minister William Davis of Apex and Bobby McDougal of Ohio; a stepson, Alvin Brice McDougal of Maryland; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was born in Clairton, Pa., to Martha Ruhl Mathews and the late Carl D. Mathews. She was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where she received her nursing degree. She was preceded by her brother, Jeffrey.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Jeffery G. Fletcher; three daughters, Jennifer Sue Simonik of Pennsylvania, and Casey Ann Gillis and Nicole Marie Fletcher, both of Cameron; sisters, Diana McVady and husband Jim of Kentucky, and Susan Baccile and husband Dominick of Pennsylvania; brothers, Carl Mathews and wife Kimberly, and Mark Mathews and wife Mary, all of Pennsylvania; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A native of Moore County, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Ethel Morgan Garner. She was a member of Yates-Thagard Baptist Church and was retired from Eckerd Drug Stores. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Jefferson David “Jeff” Baker; brothers, Cliff Garner, Lacy “Bud” Garner, Ralph Garner and wife Carol, and Raymond Garner; and sister-in-law, Marguree.
She is survived by daughters, Ilene Thompson and husband Andy, and Donna Kyle and husband Robert, all of Carthage; sisters, Doris Wall and husband Paul, and Jewel Frye and husband William, all of Sanford, and Thelma Wilke and husband Charles of Cameron; brothers, Walter Garner and wife Barbara of Newport News, Va., and Harrison Garner of Vass; sisters-in-law, Dottie West of Aberdeen, Marjorie Garner of Carthage and Opal Pricklermyer of Charlotte; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
