RUTH KEY ALLEN
GOLDSTON — Ruth Key Allen died Friday (12/6/13) at Sanford Health & Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident since Aug. 3.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lewis Allen.
She is survived by four children, Cherry Richardson of Greenville, S.C., Thomas Allen of Savannah, Ga., Adair Sloan of Freeport, N.Y., and Joyce Allen Cheek of Goldston.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Serving the family is the Triad Cremation Center in Greensboro.
JAMES SIDDALL MILLER
LILLINGTON — James “Sid” Siddall Miller, 61, died Monday (12/9/13) at Rex Hospital.
A native of Harnett County, he was the son of the late Telford A. and Sarah Bethea Miller. He was a long-time employee of Phelps Welding and local business owner in Lillington.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Graham officiating. Burial will be at Westview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home and other times at the home.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Darleen Miller; son, James S. Miller of Lillington; and brother, Telford A. Miller Jr. of Lillington.

SANFORD — Stacey Morrison, 31, of 309 Maple Ave., died Sunday (12/8/13). Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Knotts Funeral Home.
SILER CITY — Melvin Ashe, 79, of 3717 Old Coleridge Road, died Thursday (12/5/13) at Genesis Health Care in Siler City.
He was a retired police officer with the New York City Police Department and a retired veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Siler City where he was a deacon.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 12:30 p.m. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Francine Ashe; two daughters, Carolyn Petway (Darnell) and Glynda Bolling; three granddaughters; one sister, Patricia Ashe; and three brothers, Eugene Ashe, Maurice Ashe and John Bland.

SANFORD — Sharon Reinders, 71, died Tuesday (12/10/13) at her home.
She was born in Milwaukee, Wis., worked as an Environmental Scientist and retired from the Environmental Protection Agency after more than 25 years of service.
She is survived by her husband, James Jarman; daughters, Dawn Kraft, Karyn Kraft, Kimberly Jarman, Mary Kraft; a brother, Joseph Reinders; and three grandsons.
There will be no service.

SANFORD — Funeral service for James Crosby Reives, 79, who died Tuesday (12/3/13), was conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Jonesboro Chapel AME Zion Church with the Rev. Leo McKoy officiating. Burial was at Minter Cemetery.
The Jonesboro Chapel Male Chorus sang. Soloist was Alfonzo Worthy.
Pallbearers were Anthony Brown, Jack Brown, Kenneth Buie and friends of the family.

PITTSBORO — Funeral service for Betty E. McRae, 83, who died Saturday (11/30/13), was held at 12 noon Saturday at Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church in Pittsboro with the Rev. Elizabeth Tinsley officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.
The church choir sang and Naomi McCrimmon was soloist.
Pallbearers were nephews.

CAMERON — Alma Orien Small Cameron died Saturday (12/7/13) at her home.
She was born Jan. 7, 1925, in Cameron to the late Will and Maneva Small.
She is survived by three daughters, Angela Jenkins, Paula Cameron and Cheryl Cameron, all of Sanford; one sister, Betti McDougald of Fayetteville; two foster children, Gail Brown of Baltimore, Md., and Emma McNeil of Sanford; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at C.E. Willie Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Stone Family Cemetery.
Viewing will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at C.E. Willie Funeral Chapel.
