PARKER (PAT) WATSON PATTERSON
GREENSBORO — Parker (Pat) Watson Patterson, 85, died January 9, 2014 at Pettigrew Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Durham.
Pat was born February 7th, 1928, the son of the late Leonidas (Lonnie) and Carrie Patterson of Broadway, N.C. Parker was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Dorothy Marie Inman Patterson; son, David Watson Patterson; grandson, Samuel Joey Patterson; brothers, Roderick (Ock) Patterson, Duncan Patterson, J.D. Patterson, Archie Patterson and wife Yvonne, L.C. Patterson, Foster Patterson and wife Inez; sister, Lena Hughes; and second wife, Mildred Payne Patterson.
Parker graduated from Boone Trail High School in 1945. He attended North Carolina State University and graduated with a major in mechanical engineering. After college graduation he worked with North Carolina Equipment Company for 45 years as a Field Engineer specializing in hydraulics. After retirement he worked as a bus monitor for handicapped children for several years. Parker was a volunteer fireman/paramedic with the Guilford College Fire Department, Stations #17 and #19.
Parker was an active member of Guilford College Baptist Church for many years. He sang in the choir and served as a Deacon. He then moved his membership to Shining Light Baptist Church where he was an active member until his health prevented him attending from church.
Parker started painting later in life and became quite a talented artist. He loved feeding birds and watching their antics outside his back door. His backyard garden and large fig tree gave him both a hobby and pleasure. Parker loved people and made friends wherever life took him. He was a loving and caring husband, father, Papaw, relative, and friend. His sense of humor and gentle spirit will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Parker is survived by his children, Debbie Goldbeck and husband George of Chapel Hill, Donald Patterson and wife Judy of Salisbury, Danny Patterson of Wilmington, and stepson Keith Payne. Parker is also survived by brothers, Dougald Patterson and wife Wallace Ann of Reidsville, Nash Patterson and wife Marie of Linden, Clyde Patterson and friend Christine of Broadway; sisters, Jennie Holland and husband Johnny of Lillington, Margaret Butler and husband Charlie of Broadway; sisters-in-law, Shirley Stewart Patterson of Broadway and Johnnie Jean Patterson of Broadway; brother-in-law, Bill Hughes of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Carrie Goldbeck of Cedar Grove, Meredith Goldbeck of Chapel Hill, Wendy Owens and husband Cory of Mooresville, Adam Patterson and wife Julia of China Grove, Eric Patterson and wife Susan of Faith, Katelyn Patterson of Wake Forest; stepgrandchildren, Sarah and Travis Young of Advance and Lee Patterson and wife Kim of Reidsville; great-grandchildren, Riley and Emma Owens, Brinley and Cressley Patterson, Jody and Tyler Patterson; nieces and nephews, Pam Olive and husband Rick, Lori Yow and husband Tim, Chad Patterson and wife Ann-Stewart, Duncan Patterson, Karen Day and husband Tim, John Patterson Jr., Leisa Thomas and husband Eugene, Cameron Patterson and wife Lisa, Mary Jo Numerick, Kim Sharpe and husband Kelvin, April Flynn and husband David, Angie Parker and husband Tommy, Allen Patterson Jr., Vern Hughes Jr., Chuck Hughes and wife Catherine, Tim Hughes, Lynwood Holland and wife Tina, and Charles Butler. Parker also has nineteen great nieces and twelve great nephews.

Parker's family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Forbis & Dick Guilford College Chapel, 5926 W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with the Reverend Billy McDaniel officiating. Parker will be laid to rest at Westminster Gardens, 3601 Whitehurst Rd., Greensboro following the service.

THOMAS J. STANLEY JR.
BUNNLEVEL — Thomas “Tom” J. Stanley Jr., 57, of Bunnlevel, died Tuesday (1/7/14) at Wake Med Raleigh.
He was born on May 13, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio, to Goldie M. and the late Thomas J. Stanley. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis. He was a Navy veteran and had been a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of Overhills Community Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Linda Stanley; his mother, Goldie M. Stanley of Bunnlevel; two brothers, Michael Stanley and wife Rose of Knightdale, and Mitchell Stanley of Bunnlevel; a daughter, Brandy Weimer of Ohio; a stepson, Ryan Barbour of Apex; two grandchildren; three nephews; several great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with the Rev. Roy McLamb officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service and all other times at the home. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.

KENT ALAN ALLRED
PITTSBORO — Kent Alan Allred, 54, of Pittsboro, died Tuesday (1/7/14) at home.
He was born July 25, 1959, in Asheboro, a lifelong resident of Pittsboro, and was the son of Adrian and Harolene “Tot” Allred. He was a self-employed payroll accountant and computer software developer - A.T.I. Payroll Services. He was a member of Pittsboro Baptist Church and served as a youth counselor. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kimber Leigh Pilkington; and brothers, Kyle Morris Allred and Kirk Bryan Allred.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Schiavone Allred, and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation and funeral service will be held Saturday with the visitation beginning at 1 p.m. at Pittsboro Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Dr. Tripp Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

SANFORD — Funeral service for Amanda Michelle Stone Williams was held Thursday at Miller-Boles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tony Capehart presiding.
Soloist and pianist for the service was Leslie Hannah. Special music was also played.
Pallbearers were James Blalock, Teddy Blalock, Chancy Ayers, Ronnie Stone, Dave Stoddard and Rodney Bastress.
A graveside service followed at Buffalo Cemetery.

CARTHAGE — Daniel Brady Clark, 43, of Carthage died Thursday (1/2/14) at his home.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Priest Hill Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Archie Stevens. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County, he was a son of the late Herbert H. and Opal Pressley Clark.
He is survived by his companion, Christie Cole; son, Dylan Clark; brother, Larry Clark and wife Karen; and sisters, Amy and Cindy.

NEW HILL — Rossie "Bud" Lowery, 86, died Thursday (1/9/14).
He was born in Virgilina, Va., to Charlie and Clara Lowery. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters. He retired in 1993 after 45 years of service with Gregory Poole.
Funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church by the Rev. Kyle Copas and the Rev. John H. Lane.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eva; three sons, Teddy (Judy), Robert (Lyn), and Julian; two daughters, Peggy (Al) and Patricia; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church two hours prior to the service.
A funeral service will also be conducted at 2:45 p.m. Saturday at the Shady Grove Methodist Church, 4129 E. Hyco Road, South Boston, Va. The family will receive friends 45 minutes prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Shady Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Virgilina, VA.

CARTHAGE — James "J.E." Reynolds, 74, of Ring Road, died Thursday (1/9/14) at his home.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Halls Memorial Church conducted by the Rev. John Stinnett. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County, he was a son of the late Boyd D. Reynolds and Carrie Patterson Reynolds. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had worked with B&B Auto and Keith Hardware.
He is survived by sisters, Jewell Mosher of West End and Judy Freeman of Carthage; and brothers, Roland Reynolds of Pinebluff, Bobby Reynolds of Aberdeen, Charles Reynolds of Cameron, and Richard Reynolds and Gary Reynolds, both of Carthage.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today and other times at the home.
