ATKINS, ARK — Amalia Guajardo, 58, of Atkins, Ark., died Wednesday (7/2/14) at Wake Med Cary Hospital in Cary.
She was born in Mercedes, Texas, daughter of Juanita Moreno Guajardo and the late Adolfo Guajardo. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Ensalmo “Sam” Guajardo.
No services will be held.
She is survived by her mother, Juanita Moreno Guajardo of Atkins, Ark.; her partner of 13 years, Sherrina Bitzer of Moncure; sisters, Amelia Metts and Maria Guajardo, both of Atkins, Ark., and Andrea Plumber of Fort Sill, Okla.; and brothers, Adolfo “Rudy” Guajardo of Atkins, Ark., Amado “Frank” Guajardo of Russellville, Ark., and Acardio “Kyle” Guajardo of California.

LARRY LEWIS GODFREY
SANFORD — Larry Lewis Godfrey, 59, of Bailey Thomas Road, Sanford, died Thursday (7/3/14) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
He was born March 31, 1955. He was a veteran. He was a truck driver and an oversize escort driver.
He is survived by his parents, Lewis S. and Carolyn Godfrey of Sanford; mother, Hazel Maxine Lacy of Sanford; sons, Larry Wayne Godfrey and wife Jennifer, and Brian Godfrey, all of Sanford; daughter, Ashley Godfrey Hutchens and husband Sammy of Yadkinville; sister, Sylvia Godfrey Bryant and husband Charles of Sanford; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Barbecue Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends after the funeral in the fellowship hall of the church.
