NORA FAYE WOOD WALLACE

SANFORD — Mrs. Nora Faye Wood Wallace, age 62, of Sanford, N.C. died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born in Lee County, N.C. on August 11, 1951 to Jesse Raymond Wood and Cleo Lena Marion Wood. She was preceded in death by her father. Mrs. Wallace was a nursing assistant; working 18 years in the emergency room at Central Carolina Hospital and 28 years for Liberty Home Care and Hospice. She was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother, Cleo Marion Wood of Cameron, she is survived by her husband, Tommy Wallace; daughter, Stephanie Wallace Melton of Sanford; brothers, Donald Wood and wife Melanie of Sanford, Carl Wood and wife Sherry of Pinehurst; special sister-in-law, Naomi Cotten of Sanford; three grandchildren, Alyson, Kaila and Madison Melton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Beaver Creek Baptist Church and at other times at the home of Don and Melanie Wood, 6027 Carbonton Road. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Darrin Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

JIMMY LEE STONE

SANFORD — Jimmy Lee Stone, 66, of Sanford, died Friday (7/18/14) at Central Carolina Hospital.

He was born in Pitt County on June 16, 1948, to the late Harvey Lee Stone Sr. and Doris Mae Worthington Stone. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Stone. He worked in construction.

He is survived by a son, Jimmy Lee Stone Jr. of Mamers; two daughters, Christy L. Stone of Mamers and Teresa Stone of California; four sisters, Peggy Lou Stokes of Ayden, Shirley Boseman and Hubert of Robersonville, Mary Jane Johnson and Norris of Sanford and Helen Joyce Smith and Jimmy of Carthage; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and other times at 1700 Blackstone Road.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Joel Cameron officiating. Burial will follow at Center United Methodist Church cemetery.

JOHN THOMAS WHITE SR.

SILER CITY — John Thomas White Sr. of 32 Martin-White Road, Siler City, died Wednesday (7/16/14) at his home.

Funeral service will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at Gees Grove AME Zion Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

He is survived by his children, John Thomas White Jr. (Vassie) and Myron Wade White; sisters, Hazel Lunsford (Gattis) and Shirley White-McNair (Andrew); 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Margie White; and one aunt.

ROBBINS — Bobbie Addie Thomas, 74, of 920 Lakey Siding Road, Robbins, died Thursday (7/17/14) at Manor Care Health Service in Pinehurst. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Person Funeral Home in Robbins.

LEE WATSON MOORE

BEAR CREEK — Lee  “Buddy” Watson Moore, 61, of  Devils Tramping Ground Road, Bear Creek, died Thursday (7/17/14) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

He was born in Harnett County on April 28, 1953, the son of Douglas W. and Florence Virginia (Lucas) Moore. He was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had been employed with Desperado Convenience Store. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by sisters, Bonnie M. Davis and Linda Langley, both of Siler City, and Annie Warner and husband General of Sneedville, Tenn.; and 21 nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home in Siler City, and other times at the home of his sister, Bonnie Davis, 813 Sheffield Drive, Apt. 34, Siler City.

SANFORD — Alvin S. Edwards of 1201 Lillie Lane, Sanford, died Saturday (7/12/14) at Central Carolina Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Edwards, and sister, Emma Jean Edwards.

He is survived by his wife, Minnie Edwards; daughters, Sunshine Edwards Forbes (Steven), Rainey Edwards Cooper (Diamonique), and Angel Charmaine Edwards, all of Sanford; son, Spencer Edwards (Dee) of Sanford; mother, Corrine Lane Edwards of Sanford; brothers, Benjamin Edwards (Phyllis), Tommy Edwards and Jerome Edwards, all of Sanford, Carl Edwards (Pam) of Indianapolis, Ind., Wayne Edwards (Mary) of Evans, Ga., Jeffery Edwards of Hoffman and Anthony Edwards (Debbie) of Charlotte; sister, Pamela A. Hooker of Sanford; and four grandchildren.

Funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Gospel Lighthouse with Apostle Reginald White officiating.
