ERLENE STANLEY MCPHERSON
SANFORD — Funeral service for Erlene Stanley McPherson, 90, who died Saturday (4/9/13) in Rocky Mount, was conducted Thursday at Cameron Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Greene presiding. Burial followed at Cameron Church Cemetery.
Pianist was Patty Lunday. The congregation sang three songs. Nathan and Madison Faulk sang a duet. Dr. Wayne Greene sang a solo. Eulogies were given by Lynda McPherson and Judy Lovick.
Pallbearers were Stanley McPherson, William McPherson, Ted Clark, Jerry Clark, Nathan Faulk, Richard Bolton and Matt Clark.
Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
CONNIE M. PINSON
BALTIMORE, Md. — Conceicao Medeiros Pinson (nee Oliveira), 87, formerly of Broadway, died Thursday (3/14/13) at Ivy Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Baltimore, Md.
She was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Sao Miguel-Azores, Portugal, the daughter of the late Manuel Maria Oliveira and the late Maria Pacheco Oliveira. She was a factory machine operator. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Sterling Pinson Jr.,, and daughter, Joanne Marie Hillman.
She is survived by a daughter, Maria Emerson of Baltimore, Md.; sons, Victor Medeiros of Everett, Mass., and Dean Pinson of Washington, D.C.; son-in-law, Rodney Hillman of Fallston, Md.; sister, Fernanda Smith of Arabi, Ga.; brothers, Antonio Oliveira of Connecticut and Alvarino Oliveira of Boston, Mass.; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1 until 3 p.m. and from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory in Sykesville, Md. Catholic prayer service will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville, Md.

EVELYN B. EDWARDS
SANFORD — Evelyn B. Edwards, 84, of 2510 Summerfield Drive, died Tuesday (3/12/13) at Sanford Health and Rehab.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Nebo Free Will Baptist Church in Lemon Springs with Elder James Leach and Elder Timothy Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Moore Union FWB Church cemetery in Broadway.
She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Grace Campbell of Sanford; son, Wayne Edwards of Sanford; brother, John Blue (Geraldine); sisters, Lula Blue, Rutha Ray, Laura Daniels (Freddie) and Georgia Carter; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today at Dafford Funeral Home in Angier.

NELSON RAY FLYNN
SANFORD — Nelson Ray Flynn, 67, died Friday (3/15/13) at Pine Lake Health and Rehab Center in Carthage.
He was born in Lee County on Dec. 26, 1945, to the late Thurman Thomas and Edith Hall Flynn. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine “Kathy” Flynn, and sister, Glenda Stanley. He served in the U.S. Army and served two tours in Vietnam. He worked over 30 years for Waylon's Auto Sales as a body and paint mechanic and was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
He is survived by two sons, Jerry Nelson Flynn and wife Shannon of Sanford and Gary Ray Flynn and wife Amanda of Carthage; daughter, Shannon Butner and husband Leonard of Sanford; two brothers, Wayne Flynn of Cameron and Roy Flynn and wife Cathy of Sanford; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6 until 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. Funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Red Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Scott McInnis presiding. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with military honors.

LORA ALLEN BRANCH
SANFORD — Funeral service for Lora Allen Branch, 90, who died Tuesday (3/12/13), was held Friday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church by Dr. Jeff Clark. Burial followed at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.
During the service, organist was Carole Troutman. Words of remembrance were by Alta Warwick.
Pallbearers were Steven Allen, Arthur Allen Jr., Michael Allen, Wayne Allen, Gray Allen and Anthony Allen.
