JAMES TERREL ‘JIM’ MORGAN

SANFORD — James Terrell “Jim” Morgan, 59, of Sanford died Thursday (3/14/2013) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at New Life Praise Church. Burial will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

Morgan was born in Moore County, the son of the late William Mason Morgan and Essie Williams Morgan, and was preceded in death by a brother, William David Morgan.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Morgan of Memphis, Tenn.; a son Jason Terrell Morgan and a daughter Jessica Marie Morgan.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at New Life Praise Church.

SANFORD — Sedalian Rollins McIver, 87, of 714 West Fraizer Driver, Sanford, died Thursday (3/14/2013) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.

FREDRICK MICHAEL FAUCETTE

SANFORD — Fredrick Michael “Freddie” Faucette, 62, of Sanford, died Friday (3/15/2013).

Freddie was born in Durham on Dec. 28, 1951 to the late Robert Kenneth Faucette and Opal Wood Faucette.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Russell Faucette.

Survivors include two brothers, Chesley Keith Faucette, Douglas Stephen Faucette, and one sister Miriam Faucette Thompson.

The family plans no services at this time, but will celebrate his life at a future private memorial.

Those wishing to honor Freddie’s memory please take time to show your compassionate love and care to those in your life, and to all God’s children.

CLEO ARTENSE BENTON HARGROVE

BROADWAY — Graveside service for Cleo Artense Benton Hargrove, 89, of Broadway, who died Wednesday (3/13/2013), was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Juniper Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Marvin Johnson officiating.

Soloist was Clay Causey. Recorded music was also played.

Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FLA. — Graveside service for Alfred Wade Thomas, 90, of Panama City Beach, Fla, formerly of Sanford, who died March 8, was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shallow Well Cemetery with with Rev. Keith Miller officiating. Several of those attending gave eulogies. Burial followed with military rites.

JOSEPHINE WHITTLE THORNTON

WHISPERING PINES — Josephine Whittle Thornton, 72, of Whispering Pines, died Friday (3/152013) at Tara Plantation in Carthage.

A private burial is scheduled for the future in Roanoke, Va.

Thornton was the daughter of the late Judge Randolph Gordon Whittle and the late Josephine Parrott Whittle. She was born on March 21, 1940 in Roanoke, Virginia, the youngest of three children. She attended Mary Baldwin College.

She is survived by her husband Stafford Thornton, son William and his wife Amy, son Rives and his partner Nina Spadaro, daughter Suzanne and her husband John Robert Garrett, brothers Randy and John Whittle, three grandchildren and many other family and friends.

  AUDREY BOOE FELTS

STALEY —  Audrey Booe Felts, 85, of 3054 Charlie Cooper Road, Staley, died Friday (3/15/2013)

Felts was born March 23, 1927 the daughter of Caswell H. and Lucy (Renegar) Booe. She was a native of Yadkin County and worked for the Selig Company. Felts is preceded in death by her sisters, Merline Bray and Pauline Baker and her brothers, Garallen Booe and Bill Booe.

She is survived by daughter: Beverly S. Cooper of Staley, sisters: Betty Shuping of Salisbury, Gwendolyn Cline and husband, Flake of Mocksville; brothers: Lonnie Booe and wife, Judy of Winston- Salem; Caswell Booe and wife, Patsy of Courtney; granddaughter, Kristen Cooper Bare and Stephen of Siler City; a grandson and great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Piney Grove United Methodist Church, located at 2343 Piney Grove Church Road, Siler City with the Rev. Jim Fokes officiating. Family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.
