JOHN WALTER SETZER

SANFORD — Mr. John Walter Setzer, 75, of Sanford, N.C., died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Setzer was born on March 17, 1938, in Caldwell County, N.C., to the late John Wesley Setzer and Carrie Kathleen Baker Setzer Clark. He was a retired truck driver and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was preceded in death a sisters, Mamie Setzer, Dorothy Setzer, and Myrtle Heath.

He is survived by three daughters, Diane Setzer Baker and husband B.J. of Sanford, Donna Setzer Harris and husband Bruce of Hudson, Florida, and Kimberly Setzer Sampay and husband Robert of Houma, LA.; brother, Charles Setzer of Smithfield, N.C.; sisters, Minnie Setzer of Lenoir and Geniver Mayfield of Lenoir; half brothers, David Clark, Tommy Clark, and Pat Clark; half sister, Teresa Tuttle; six grandsons, two great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren; and close companion, Beverly Rhue.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 22, 2013, at the home of his daughter, Diane Baker, 4105 River Run Drive, Sanford, N.C. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

GLENNESS RIDDLE ELLIOTT

GREENSBORO — Glenness Riddle Elliott, 82, died Monday (3/11/13).

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Lakeview Memorial Park, Hwy 29 North in Greensboro, with the Rev. Joe Chandler officiating.

She was born in Lee County on Oct. 28, 1930, a daughter to Julius Moses Riddle and Allie Wilder Riddle, and was married to William J. Elliott, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Norman and Ethel Elliott of Greensboro, and several cousins and many friends.

There will be no visitation or viewing.

CLARENCE RAY AGEE (vet)

CAMERON — Clarence Ray Agee, 81, died Tuesday (3/19/13) at FirstHealth Hospice House of Pinehurst.

He was born in Richmond, Ky., on Jan. 23, 1932, to the late John Gilbert and Celta Smith Agee. He retired from the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Gilbert Agee Jr., Glenn Nelson Agee and J.B. Agee.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Edward Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake at 12 p.m. with full military honors.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Murphy Agee; two sons, Glenn Charles Agee and Scott Ray Agee and wife Cynthia, all of Cameron; one sister, Patsy Shouse of Kentucky; two brothers, Darrell G. Agee and Larry W. Agee, both of Kentucky; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

ROBERT DEELEE DENNY

SANFORD — Robert Deelee Denny, 88, died Tuesday (3/19/13) at Central Carolina Hospital.

He was born on Oct. 29, 1924, in Forsyth County, to the late William R. Denny and Mamie Shouse Denny. He retired from the N.C. Dept. of Transportation. He was a member of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Belle Wicker Denny.

He is survived a sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Wood and the Rev. Gilbert McDowell officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.

LILLINGTON — Angela Worrell, infant daughter of Walter Robert and Patricia Abercrombie Worrell, died Saturday (3/16/13) at Duke Medical Center in Durham.

Graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Christian Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Lillington.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two half-sisters, Kathrine Phillips and Krystal Phillips of Arizona; one half-brother, Robert Phillips of Arizona; grandparents, Loretta Worrell of Lillington, and John and Elizabeth Abercrombie of Washington; and great-grandparents, Robert and JoAnne Sanders of Arizona, and Violet Abercrombie of Oregon.

SANFORD — Funeral service for Alan Wade Spivey, 50, who died Sunday (3/17/13), was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home by Chaplin Joel Cameron. A private burial was held before the funeral at Buffalo Cemetery.

During the service, recorded music was played.

Pallbearers included Roger Gilmore, Bradley Maddox, Robert Parrish and Tim Spivey.
