HAROLD HORVATH

CARTHAGE — Harold Horvath, 81, of 348 Cool Springs Rd., died Monday (3/18/13) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

ROY HENDERSON LAWRENCE

SANFORD — Private graveside service for Roy Henderson Lawrence was held Thursday at Buffalo Cemetery. Following the graveside service, a funeral service was held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church with Father Craig Lister as Celebrant. Homily was given by the Rev. Tally Bandy, crucifer was Lena Kerley, lector was Marilyn Arthur and chalice bearer was Peggy Nelson. Ushers were Dave Zeph, Jack Beyer and Ken Lokey. Organist was Sophie Johnson.

Following the service, the family greeted friends in the Parrish Hall for a reception.

ERNEST CLAYTON MOORE

CARTHAGE — Ernest Clayton Moore, 80, of the Putnam community, died Thursday (3/21/13) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Putnam Friends Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Billy Joe Brady. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

A native of Moore County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Rossie Kennedy Moore. He retired as a motor grader operator from the N.C. Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his son, Ernest Ricky Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Nall Moore; sister, Agnes Cole of Durham; two nieces and one nephew as well as other distant relatives.

FRANCES WALTON RILEY CHRISTIAN

SANFORD — Funeral service for Frances Walton Riley Christian was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Faith Bible Church with Pastor Joe Gould officiating.

Two congregational hymns were sung and Jack Christian and Christy Sessions gave the eulogies.

Pallbearers were Timothy Christian, Jay Sessions, John Christian, Mitch Conder, William McNeill and James Pardington.

Following the funeral, a graveside service was held at the Lee Memory Gardens.
