WILMINGTON — Kitty Hackney White, 88, of Wilmington, wife of 63 years to the late Robert Bailey White, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Born in Chatham County, N.C. on September 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Junious Joseph “J.J.” and Kate Marks Hackney. She was a member of Pittsboro United Methodist Church and formerly worked at the Institute of Government at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill until her retirement to Wilmington.

Surviving are her son, Robert “Biff” White (Denise) of Wilmington; daughter, Patsy Perkins (Arthur “Perk”) of Pittsboro, N.C.; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn White, Mesha Batts, Chance Perkins; and a great-grandson, Dalton Batts.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Brant M. Hackney.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at Haywood Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Moncure, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2202 Wrightsville Ave, Suite 111, Wilmington, N.C. 28403.

CUMNOCK — Ricky O’Briant Spivey, 57, passed away Tuesday (3/26/13) at his home.

There will be a memorial service at Cumnock Union Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6.

He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Spivey of Cumnock; one brother, Benjamin Spivey and wife Sheila and one sister, Darlene Hudson and husband Buddy, all of Cumnock; two nieces, Joy Nunnery and Michelle Gross; one nephew, Craig Spivey, and three great-nieces.

The family will be at the mother’s home at 996 Cumnock Road.

ROBBINS — William “Tony” Hill, 61, of 647 Calvin Road, died Thursday (3/28/13) at his home.

Funeral service will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at High Falls Friends Church with Pastor Ben Hurley and the Rev. Robert L. Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

He was a Moore County native and had retired from Ingresoll Rand, where he worked as a machinist. He was a member of High Falls Friends Church in High Falls.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Maness Hill; daughters,Tammy Renee Barnes of Locust and Millicent V. King and husband Phillip of Carthage; five grandchildren; mother, Beatrice Shields Hill of Bennett; and father-in-law, L.H. “Bud” Maness of Robbins.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and after the service in the church fellowship hall, and other times at his home.
