GASTON D. WILLIAMSON

SANFORD — Gaston D. Williamson, 72, of 398 Black Road, Sanford, died Friday (2/21/14) at his residence. Arrangements will be announced by Knotts Funeral Home.

RAYMOND ASBURY THOMPSON

BURLINGTON, N.J. — Raymond Asbury Thompson of 203 York St., Burlington, N.J., formerly of Sanford, died Monday (2/17/14). Arrangements pending by May Funeral Home. Information provided by LHorton Community Funeral Home.

SANDRA KAY TAYLOR GLIDDEN

LILLINGTON — Sandra Kay Taylor Glidden, 67, of Lillington, died Wednesday (2/19/14) at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Willie John and Lillian Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Glidden, and brother, Roger Taylor.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the home of Bill Taylor.

There will be a graveside service held at a later date.

She is survived by her son, Mark Lex Glidden of Lillington; and two brothers, Bill Taylor and Graham Reed Taylor, both of Lillington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 6670 Old U.S. Highway 421, Lillington, N.C. 27546.

Arrangements are by O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home & Crematory.

ELIZABETH WOODARD

SANFORD — Funeral service for Elizabeth Woodard, 78, who died Sunday (2/16/14), was held at 1 p.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Bruce Petty officiating. Burial was at the Minter Cemetery.

The church choir sang. Soloist was India Berryman.

Pallbearers were friends of the family.

Arrangements were by Knotts Funeral Home.

THEODORE WILLIAMS

FAYETTEVILLE — Theodore Wiliams, 64, of 4725 Northgales Circle, Fayetteville, died Tuesday (2/11/14) at home.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hobbs; daughter, Antoinette Williams; sisters, Jackie Hobbs and Dianne Hobbs; brothers, Donell Hobbs, James Hobbs and Derrick Hobbs; brother, Edwin Hobbs; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

No service is planned. Burial will be at a later date.

Arrangements by Elizabeth Street Mortuary in Spring Lake.

MAJOR WADE TINDALL HERRINGTON JR.

VASS — Major Wade Tindall Herrington Jr., USA, Retired, 72, of Vass, died Friday (2/21/14) at his home.

A celebration of life with military honors will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church with the Rev. Brian Teeter officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.

He was born in Wharton County in Texas on Oct. 6, 1941, to Wade Tindall and Louise Elizabeth Schneider Herrington. He was an expert skeet shooter, once winning Retired Military Skeet Shooter of the World in San Antonio, Texas. He was a highly decorated Retired Vietnam Veteran and also a member of the Golden Knights with over 3,700 jumps with 20-plus years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joyce Herrington, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wade Tindall and Louise Elizabeth Schneider Herrington.

CLEO THOMAS HUNTER COOPER

SANFORD — Cleo Thomas Hunter Cooper of Sanford died Friday (2/21/14) at her home.

She was born in North Carolina to the late Bryant Benjamin Hunter and Ethel Vinson Hunter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Henry Cooper, and by a sister, Ruby Hunter Kennedy.

She is survived by a niece, Seanne Kennedy Vesico of Cape Coral, Fla.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home prior to the funeral service. There will be no visitation at the home.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

TODD MICHEAL KIRKLAND

CAMERON — Todd Micheal Kirkland, 40, of Cameron, died Thursday (2/20/14) at his home.

He was born on Oct. 29, 1973, in Marquette County, Mich. to the late Aaron Eugene Kirkland and Marian Saari Baldini Kirkland.

He is survived by his wife, Melena Darlene Hill; stepmother, Eliza Marshal Kirkland of Cleveland, Tenn.; a daughter, Miranda Page Kirkland of the home; brothers, Zachary Tate Kirkland of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Jon Quintous Kirkland of Cleveland, Tenn.; stepbrother, Chad Dorsett of New York; and a sister, Sara Austin Waton of Richland, Ga.

The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at 364 Mayer Road in Cameron.
