SANFORD — Richard Louis Wilson, 60, passed away on Friday (4/26/13) at his home in Sanford, N.C.

He was born on July 7, 1952, in Ilion, N.Y., to Marguerite Wilson and the late Theodore L. Wilson.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Stacy Wilson of York, Penn.; two brothers, David Wilson and his wife Valerie of White Cloud, Mich., and Robert Wilson and his wife Shelly of Sanford; two sisters, Linda Poling and her husband Noel of Salamanca, N.Y., and Dianne Johnson and her husband Ronnie of Marietta, Ohio; and three grandchildren.All services are private. SANDRA LEIGH OLINGER

CARTHAGE — Funeral Services for Sandra Leigh Olinger, 65, of Carthage, formerly of New Hill, who died Sunday (4/21/13), were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Haywood Independent Bible Church with Rev. Garland Smith officiating.

Taped music was played during the service, and pallbearers were friends and family members. Arrangements were by the Smith Funeral Home of Moncure.

MONCURE —  Funeral services for David Ronald “Ronnie” Poe Sr., 67, of Moncure, who died Tuesday (4/23/13) were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Haywood Independent Bible Church with Rev. Terry Pleasant and Rev. Ray Gooch officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Military honors were provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard. During the service, Charlotte Walton and Denny Pake sang, and Charlotte Waton was the pianist. Pallbearers were James Baker, Barney High, Jon Lovelace, Leslie Atkinson, Frank King and Carey Simon.

Arrangements were by the Smith Funeral Home of Moncure.

JESSICA RENEE WILSON

BROADWAY — Jessica Renee Wilson, 19, of Broadway, died Thursday (4/25/13) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.

She was born in Lee County, daughter of Carlos Esparza and Cheryl Wilson Delguidice. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Alberta Wilson and her great-grandmother Mary Dowd. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Garland Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Sloan Cemetery in Broadway.

Surviving are her father Carlos Esparza of Leland, Mich.; her mother Cheryl Wilson Delguidice of Broadway; brothers Felimon Torres, Antonio Torres and Jeffery Sloan, all of Broadway; and maternal grandfather Larry Wilson of Broadway.

SANFORD — Memorial services for Vickie Rea “Vic” Womack, 59, of Sanford, who died Monday (4/22/13), were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Garland Smith officiating. During the service, Cynthia Spivey, Rick Spivey, David Oyster, Louise Oyster and Lynne Green were the musicians. Arrangements were by Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.

FAYETTEVILLE — Funeral services for Deborah Alston Jones, 60, of Fayetteville, who died Saturday (4/20/13) were held at 12 p.m. Saturday (4/27/13) at Macedonia AME Zion Church in Gulf, N.C., with Rev. Carolyn Radcliff officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

During the service, musicians were the St. Paul and Macedonia Church Choir, with soloist William Ray. Pallbearers were her cousins.

Arrangements were by Knotts Funeral Home.

RUBY P. PHILLIPS

SANFORD — Funeral services for Ruby Pearl Phillips, 98, of Sanford, who died Thursday (4/25/13) were conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Thompson and Rev. Garland Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Shallow Well United Church of Christ Cemetery.

During the service, John Godfrey was the pianist and Shannon Godfrey sang. Pallbearers were Chris Phillips, Michael Phillips, Bobby Phillips, Terry Frye, Howard Phillips Jr., Roger Phillips Jr., Ricky Phillips and Cecil Phillips.
