DAVID GROCE MANN
MACON, GA — David Groce Mann, 71, of Macon, Georgia, died Thursday, May 09, 2013. He had lived in Macon for the past forty-one years.
Mr. Mann was born May 16, 1941 in Sanford, North Carolina to Harold Lindsey Mann and Margie Groce Mann. He was a graduate of Sanford Central High School and the University of North Carolina.
Mr. Mann is survived by his wife of forty-nine years: Elaine Mann; son: Mark Mann; daughter: Mary Elizabeth White; mother: Margie Groce Mann of Sanford; brothers: Harold L. Mann, Jr., (Dot) of Jasper, Georgia, W. Joseph Mann (Ann) of Raleigh, Edward H. Mann (Frances) of Greenville; and sister: Anne Mann Rollins (Bruce) of Mocksville. He is also survived by an aunt and two uncles and many loving cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father: Harold Lindsey Mann.
Mr. Mann spent most of his professional career in the concrete industry and at his death was a construction contractor.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 16, 2013, at World Changers Church in Macon. Minister Horace Holmes, Jr. will officiate.

DOUGLAS ARCHIE YARBOROUGH
SANFORD — Douglas Archie Yarborough, age 70, of Sanford, died on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
He was born on March 24, 1943 in Moore County to the late Malcom James Yarborough and Anna Mae O'Quinn Yarborough. Mr. Yarborough retired in 2005 from Central Electric Membership Corporation. He was an avid Duke basketball fan and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his “grandboys” whom he loved very much. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Willa Holder, Ruth Cox, Maggie Belle Coats, Hassie Yarborough, Hester McKay, and Neal Yarborough.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Yarborough of Sanford; two daughters: Christina Yarborough Eldred of Wilmington, NC and Monica Yarborough Woods of Durham, NC; his four “grandboys”: Nicholas Eldred, Zachary Douglas Eldred, Jalen Woods, and Braden Rosser; he is also survived by two sisters: Frances Venable of Broadway, NC and Carolyn Dull of Cameron, NC; and three brothers: Malcom Yarborough of Carthage, TN; John Yarborough of Sanford, NC; and Steve Yarborough of Sanford, NC.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Flat Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary McCullough officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. at Miller-Boles Funeral Home in Sanford.

BOBBY RAY THOMAS
SANFORD — Bobby Ray “Be-Bop” Thomas, 71, died Sunday (5/12/13) at his residence.
He was born on Oct. 12, 1941, in Harnett County, to the late Gordon Robert Thomas and Mollie Underwood Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Cliff, Claybourn and James Thomas. He worked with scrap metal that he picked up and recycled.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Thomas; and a sister, Jean Jackson of Boone.
The family will receive friends at the family home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. No other services are planned.

KEITH REX THOMAS
LILLINGTON — Keith Rex Thomas, 60, died Saturday (5/11/13) at the Hospice of Wake County Center in Raleigh.
A native of Harnett County, he was preceded in death by his father, Rex Thomas. In 1971, he graduated from Boone Trail High School and in 1975 from Campbell College with a BA degree in Health/Physical Education. Following his education, he worked with the N.C. Department of Corrections as a Physical Education Instructor before obtaining his insurance license. In 1982, he began working with Farm Bureau Insurance in Lillington. He joined Cape Fear Insurance Agency in Lillington in 1998. He was a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. today at Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers with the Rev. Patrick Broadus and Pastor Robbie O’Quinn officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the family home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Wake County Center, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, N.C. 27607.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon Salmon Thomas; daughter, Shannon T. Howell and husband Currie of Angier; one granddaughter; mother, Alva Lee Thomas of Lillington; brother, Reggie Thomas of Hickory; and sister, Lori Chambers of Pfafftown.

PITTSBORO — Ernest Snipes, 87, of 268 Firetower Road, Pittsboro, died Saturday (5/11/13) at Central Carolina Hospital.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Snipes Johnson (Alexander) of Pittsboro; one son, Ernest Clifton Snipes (Brenda) of Pittssboro; a son-in-law, Rev. Harold Rives of Pittsboro; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a foster son; one sister, Irene Snipes of Yanceyville; three brothers, Claude Snipes (Frances) of Pittsboro, Lindo Snipes of Virginia and Harold Snipes of Greensboro; a sister-in-law, Ernestine Snipes of Pittsboro; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Andrews Congregational Church in Pittsboro. Burial will follow at St. Andrews Congregational Church Cemetery. No wake is scheduled, but family will receive family and friends at his home at 268 Pittsboro Fire Tower Road.

SANFORD — Beulah Boggs, 74, died Sunday (5/12/13) at her home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
NANCY LOUISE CLARK RIDENHOUR
SANFORD — Nancy Louise Clark Ridenhour, 70, died Monday (5/13/13).
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Barbecue Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Alexander “Sandy” Williams. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
She was a native of Harnett County and a daughter of the late John H. and Zaila Godfrey Clark Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie “Harold” Ridenhour Sr., and two sisters, Dolly Mae Clark Matthews and Jessie Clark Perry, and a brother, John H. Clark Jr. She was a member of Barbecue Presbyterian Church. She worked with Eaton Corp. for 22 years and later retired from Static Control.
She is survived by her son, Leslie H. “Les” Ridenhour and wife Pam of Sanford; two brothers, Jimmy Lee Clark of Sanford and Billy Ray Clark of Hope Mills; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home and other times at 2812 Barbecue Church Road.
