CAROL ANN FARRINGTON
DURHAM — Funeral service for Carol Ann Farrington, 58, who died Sunday (5/12/13), was held at 2 p.m. Friday at Terrell’s Chapel AME Zion Church in Pittsboro with the Rev. Don C. Copeland.
The church choir sang and soloist was Sarah Harrington.
Pallbearers were friends of the family.
Arrangements were by Knotts Funeral Home.
JOHN FREDERICK GRIMM
CARTHAGE — John Frederick Grimm, 79, died Thursday (5/16/13) at the VA Medical Center in Durham.
A native of Moore County, he was the son of the late Herman H. Grimm and Katherine Pickard Grimm. A U.S. Army veteran, he owned and operated Grimm Heating and Air Conditioning Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Herman Grimm and Julian Grimm.
Funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Ussery officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 12:30.
He is survived by three sons, Freddie Grimm and wife Jenny of N. Augusta, S.C., David Grimm and wife Robin of Greenville, S.C., and Mark Grimm of Carthage; a sister, Margaret Perley of Bumpass, Va.; and five grandchildren.

SPRING LAKE — Amanda Lin Brown Cartee, 29, died Sunday (5/12/13) at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Spring Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry Williams officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday at O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home and other times at the home.
She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Joey Mathew Cartee; three sons, Joseph, Justin, and Sean Cartee; mother, Mitzie Brown; brother, Joshua Brown; two aunts and a cousin.

SANFORD — David Jerell McNeill, 31, of 994 Tempting Church Road, died Friday (5/17/13) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Knotts Funeral Home.

MOREHEAD CITY — Peggy Jean Mason, 66, of Newport, died Friday (5/17/13) at home.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Amariah Garner Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Conner and Randall West officiating.
She was a member of Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Mason; and her parents, James and Lethia Jamerson.
She is survived by a daughter, Renee A. Mason of Newport; two sons, Larry L. Mason of Richmond, Va., and Allen Mason and wife Tammy of Otway; three sisters, Marie Dunlap of Olivia, and Sylvia Druckemiller and Veronica Domingues, both of Sanford; brother, Johnny Jamerson of Johnsonville; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church.
