MAE LOUISE LUEDERITZ NORUNGOLO
GREENVILLE, S.C. — Mae Louise Luederitz Norungolo, widow of James Anthony Norungolo, 96, died peacefully at her home on Monday (5/20/13).
Born in Milwaukee, WI on May 31, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Alvina Breitzman Luederitz. Mae was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and GG Ma and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Susanne N. Wolfe of Travelers Rest; two sons, Anthony James Norungolo and wife, Anne, of Tiera Verde, FL and Patrick Charles Norungolo and wife, Joava, of Campobello; 18 grandchildren, Theresa Couch and husband Barry, Angela Gieger and husband Scott, Deanna Norungolo, Elizabeth Sprinkle and husband Joey, David Wolfe and wife Teresa, Johanna Wolfe, Tina Wolfe and husband Margarito, Jason Wolfe and wife Julie, Mark Norungolo and wife Kennedy, Lisa Norungolo, James Anthony Norungolo, Mary Jo Davis and husband Stewart, Michael John Norungolo, Monica Norungolo, Brian Thomason, James Thomason, Donna Whitaker and husband Rickey, Lisa Ann Norungolo; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by children, Michael Peter Norungolo and Jacqueline Thomason; and a sister, Ruth L. West.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 W. Georgia Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29680 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

NELLIE S. THOMAS
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Nellie S. Thomas died Saturday (5/11/13) in Jacksonville, Fla.
She was born Jan. 21, 1930, daughter of the late Mickler and Beatrice Sheppard of Walhalla, S.C. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Warren Thomas; a son, Jerry Thomas; and two sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Larry S. Thomas (Patricia) of Sanford and Eddie Thomas (Tracy) of Deatsville, Ala; daughter-in-law, Gracie Thomas of Broadway; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at the Broadway Cemetery at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Robert Thomas presiding.
The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.
Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens in Jacksonville Beach, Fla., served the family.
VENILA EILEEN LIEBERT
SANFORD — Venila (Nila) Eileen Liebert, 89, died Sunday (5/19/13) at Victorian Manor.
She was born in Stowe, Vt., on Feb. 6, 1924, to the late Quincy and Blanche Magoon, and lived in the Green Mountain State until moving to Sanford in 1977. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Liebert III, and her sisters, Dorothy Dudley and Ramona Mackenzie.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Liebert of Sanford; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sharon Liebert of Braintree, Vt.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

VASS — Ronald Lee Slotter, 67, died Friday (5/17/13) at Duke University Hospital.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Rodda officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
He was born in Kingsville, Texas, on Nov. 30, 1945, to Ambrose H. and LaRue Krupp Slotter. He worked in the financial industry most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Welch Slotter; two children, Brian Lee Slotter and wife Karyn of Vass, and Michele Ann Slotter Mulligan and husband Anthony of Aberdeen; sister-in-law, Barbara Schmidt and husband Ken of Vass; two brothers-in-law, James Welch and wife Lynn of Pennsylvania and William Welch of New Jersey; one granddaughter and two nieces.

CONCORD — Belinda "Wendy" Rhea Mullis, 45, died Friday (5/17/13) in Concord.
She was born Nov. 6, 1967, in Columbus, Ohio, to Bernard and Irene Preece Short. She was preceded in death by her mother.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Mullis; two sons, Michael David Evans and Kevin Tyler Ellerman; sisters, Yvonda Johnson and Candy Vranes, both of Spring Lake; and brother, Jimmy Short of Haynesville, Ky.

CAMERON — Hubert Newby Jr., 70, died Sunday (5/19/13) at Veterans Medical Center in Fayetteville.

SANFORD — Lisa Marie Kaufman, 33, and her son, Kevin Tyrese McLean, 14, died Sunday (5/19/13).
Lisa was born on March 20, 1980, in Brookhaven, N.Y., to Frank and Linda Kaufman. Kevin was born on Feb. 9, 1999, in Sanford to Wendell Kevin McLean and the late Lisa Kaufman.
A visitation will be held Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Christ Christian Center.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Buffalo Cemetery.
