BETH FOUSHEE NOLES

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Beth Foushee Noles, 94, died Saturday (5/4/13) at Agape Rehabilitation Center.

She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Mattie Foushee. She was preceded in death by three husbands, John “Jack” Wesley Carter, Daniel Burn Shelly Sr. and Harold James Noles; and two brothers, James Ormand Foushee and Pressley Moore Foushee.

She is survived by her children, Parker W. Carter Sr. and his wife Hope G. Carter, and Brenda N. Ronaldson and her husband G. Drew Ronaldson; two brothers, Frank Currie Foushee and Ralph Lee Foushee; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be conducted at Buffalo Cemetery on Saturday at 3 p.m.

PAUL M. CHAPLIN

SUMMERTON, S.C. — Paul M. Chaplin, 73, died Friday (5/24/13) at his home.

Born in Clendenin, W.Va., on Oct. 20, 1939, he was the son of the late James Ward Chaplin and the late Carrie E. Chaplin.

In the 1960s, he owned and managed a gas station in Tomah, Wis. He served in the U.S. Army from December 1959 to May 1967. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Barrett Chaplin Hawks; one son, Mark Scott Chaplin; one brother, John Charles Chaplin; and one sister, Kathern Roslena Chaplin Given.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene (Chris) Broderick Chaplin; one daughter, Paula Sue Chaplin Moschler; two sons, Patrick James Chaplin and Edward Lee Chaplin; three brothers, James Wells Chaplin, Willis Richard Chaplin and Clair Eugene Chaplin; and four sisters, Carrie Marie Chaplin Young Digman, Velma Mae Chaplin Riggs, Clara Ann Chaplin Detamore and Ethel Louise Chaplin.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery.

SANFORD — Memorial service for Otto Frederick Scheim, formerly of Sanford, who died Monday (4/1/13), was held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. M. Timothy Martin presiding and John Southern assisting.  Burial followed in the church Columbarium with military honors.

During the service, the congregation sang and the organist was Tamara Lewis.

BROADWAY — Alice Virginia Stewart Crawford, 62, died Monday (5/27/13).

She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late Emory Stewart and Adeline Worley Stewart. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Tootie Eatmon. She was an employee of 3-M.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Southside Baptist Church in Broadway with the Rev. Tom Welborn officiating. Burial will follow at the Reedy Creek Baptist Church cemetery in Cary.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Crawford and wife Karren of Cary; sisters, Arlene Patterson and husband Russell of Broadway, Betty Sue Gentry and husband Frank of Greenville, S.C., JoAnn Hardy of Broadway and Phyllis “Molly” Palmer and husband Aubrey of Gulf; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home in Broadway.

SANFORD — Funeral service for Clara Mae Cheek Harris, 86, who died Saturday (5/25/13), was held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Wendell McGee, CLP and Col. Charlie Hicks officiating. Burial followed at Meroney United Methodist Church Cemetery in Bear Creek.

Organist, pianist and soloist was David Almond who played and sang a special selection of music. The congregation also sang. Reflections were given by son Lynn R. Harris and daughter Carolyn H. Wood.

Pallbearers were Anthony Cheek, Chad Brown, Craig Lambert, Austin Harris, David Harris and Kevin Wood.

PERCELL REVELS

SANFORD — Percell Revels died Monday (5/27/13) at Central Carolina Hospital.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cool Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

He was born in Lumberton, a son of the late Hanes Revels and Dovey Hammond Revels. He was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church and a retired Diesel Mechanic with General Creosote.

He is survived by his wife, Calpurina Revels; a daughter, Janie R. Bristow and husband Steve of Sanford; a son, Mark Revels and wife Ann of Holden Beach; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; four brothers, John Revels and Rufus Revels, both of Lumberton, and Prentis Revels and William Revels, both of Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.

FAYETTEVILLE — Joseph C. Furin, 76, died Monday (5/27/13) at the Highland House Nursing Home.

He was a lifelong resident of Fayetteville where he retired with over 35 years at the U.S. Postal Service. He also served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Peggy Thomas Furin.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m. Thursday at O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home in Lillington.

He is survived by two sons, Robert Scott Tompkins and wife Courtney of Fuquay-Varina, and Matthew Shaw Furin and wife Crystle of Mooresville; two daughters, Kerri Walters of England and Lori Jackson of Waycross, Ga.; sister, Anna Reynolds and husband Edward of Charleston, S.C.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

LILLINGTON — Jennifer Nicole McCray, 26, died Monday (5/27/13) at her residence.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Goodnight officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Richard George Bugay, and paternal grandfather, Donald McCray.

She is survived by her parents, Larry and Susan Bugay McCray; sister, Stephanie Leigh McCray; maternal grandmother, Maryanna Bugay; paternal grandmother, Doris McCray; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
