DENISE KAY PICKARD JACKSON

SANFORD — Denise Kay Pickard Jackson, 56, died Thursday (5/30/13) at her home.

She was born Oct. 13, 1956, in Lee County, to the late Thurman Franklin Pickard and Blondie Edwards Pickard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Jean Holder.

She is survived by her fiance, Barry Freeman of Sanford; a daughter, Brenda Jackson of Sanford; a brother, Thurman James Pickard; and a sister, Barbara Pickard Stone of Sanford.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

CARTHAGE — Ruth Plunkett, 93, of 280 Leak St., died Friday (5/31/13) at Manor Care in Pinehurst. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Pugh & Smith Funeral Home of Carthage.

ALICE RUTH CUNNINGHAM MILLER

MINONG, Wis. — Alice Ruth Cunningham Miller died Saturday (5/25/13) in Palmdale, Calif..

She was born July 10, 1918, to Imes Malone Cunningham and Florence Walden Cunningham in Minong, Wis. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, James “Jim” Cunningham and John Cunningham; and one sister, Margaret Dodes Hegseth. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell A. Miller of Arleta, Calif. She enjoyed volunteering at Panorama Memorial Hospital and Palmdale Play House.

She is survived by two sisters, Helen Folger and Dorothy Enfield, both of Texas; her children, Keith A. Miller (Linda) of Sanford, Lynn R. Miller (Diane) of Riverside, Calif., and Ruth A. Holland (Mike) of Palmdale, Calif.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Arrangements by Pierce Brothers Valhalla Mortuary, Burbank, Calif.

Private family graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 31, at Eternal Valley Memorial Park, Newhall, Calif. Memorial service at 11 a.m. today at Palmdale United Methodist Church.

BOBBY F. DUNN

ROBBINS — Bobby F. Dunn, 71, of 1640 Wilson Road, died Friday (5/31/13) at his home.

Funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. at Pine Mountain Friends Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Joey Greene officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

He was a Moore County native and was owner and operator of Bobby Dunn's Garage. He also farmed.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Johnson Dunn; sons, Gregory Dunn and wife Robin of Robbins, Ricky Dunn and wife Kenne of Ramseur, and Keith Dunn of Robbins; nine grandchildren; sisters, Linda D. Hunt and Barbara D. Lamb, both of Asheboro; and brother-in-law, Billy Stevenson of Robbins.
