JOHNNY MARTIN HAITHCOX

SANFORD — Johnny Martin Haithcox, 63, of Sanford, died Friday (5/31/2013) at his residence.

He was born in Lee County on March 2, 1950 to the late Martin Haithcox and Ruby Buchanan Haithcox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Donnie and Larry Haithcox. He was a logger by trade.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Edna Hall Haithcox of the home; three sons, Marty Hall and Maribeth, Jonathan Haithcox and wife Amanda, and Adam Haithcox, all of Sanford; a brother Rickey Haithcox and wife Connie of Sanford, a sister-in-law, Sandra Taylor of Sanford; a niece and nephew; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sunday at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Wicker Family Cemetery in Sanford.

  RUTH PLUNKETT

CARTHAGE — Ruth Plunkett, 93, of Carthage, died Friday (5/31/2013) at Manor Care in Pinehurst.

Funeral services will be held on at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mary Holiness Church in Carthage. Burial will follow in the St. John United of God Cemetery in Carthage. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of the Rev. Betty Lee, 280 Leake St., Carthage.

Survivors included her cousin and caregiver, the Rev. Betty Lee, and a host of nieces and nephews.

BUIES CREEK — Hazel B. Hare, 70, of Buies Creek, died Saturday (6/1/13) at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

  BARBARA ANN MURCHISON COVINGTON

SANFORD — Funeral services for Barbara Ann Murchison Covington, 60, of the 500 block of King Farm Road, Sanford, who died Tuesday (5/28/2013), was held Saturday at Work for Christ Christian Center in Sanford.

Pastor Deloris Williams Washington gave the eulogy and interment was at Ebenezer Church Cemetery in Sanford. Music was provided by the Ebenezer Gospel Assembly Choir and soloists included Tracey Woods and Dorothy Matthews. Pallbearers were nephews.

Arrangements were by Knotts Funeral Home.

  JOHN ADAM SPENCER DEGRAFFENREIDT

PITTSBORO — Funeral services for John Adam Spencer Degraffenreidt, 67, of the 600 block of Millbrook Road, Pittsboro, who died Monday (5/27/2013), was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Sinai AME Church in Pittsboro.

The Rev. Shirley J. Decoster officiated and the Mt. Sinai AME Choir provided music. Henry Hadley was a soloist. Pallbearers were the Class of 1964 and 1966.

SANFORD — Funeral services for Michelle Rose Chevier were held Saturday at Miller-Boles Funeral Home Chapel in Sanford, with the Rev. Billy Norris officiating.  Special music “When I Get Where I’m Going” was played at the service. Interment was at Buffalo Cemetery, Sanford.

Pallbearers for the funeral were John Armstrong, Terry Sowder, Tim Barber, Don Vickman, Jason Chavier, David Bobrosky, Andreas Reiderbach and Shawn Clark.

Arrangements were by Miller-Boles Funeral Home.

  WAYNE HAYDEN PHILLIPS SR.

CAMERON — Funeral service for Wayne Hayden Phillips, Sr., 74, of Cameron, who died Wednesday (5/29/13) was conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matt Riggsbee presiding.  Burial followed at Lee Memory Gardens with military honors.

Soloist and pianist was Sue Crittenden.  The congregation sang as well.

Pallbearers were  Daniel Wayne Phillips, Bradley Keith Riggs, Kenneth McCormick, Craig Senter, Jacob Hyde and Santiago “Bud” Munoz.

Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

  BETH FOUSHEE NOLES

SANFORD — Graveside service for Beth Foushee Noles, 94, who died May 4, in Rock Hill, S.C., was held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Buffalo Cemetery in Sanford, with her son, Parker W. Carter Sr. officiating.  Eulogy was by Joan Foushee Lunsford.

Those attending sang a Hymn of Promise.
