RONALD GRANT HURLEY
SUPPLY — Ronald Grant Hurley, 64, of Supply, formerly of Sanford, died Sunday (5/18/14).
He was born in Lee County, to the late Euyless (EG) Hurley and Elsie Jenkins Hurley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Brent Hurley and Randy Hurley. He worked as a sandblaster.
He is survived by a daughter, Heather Prescott and husband Arin of Lexington; two sisters, Sandra Hurley and Patsy Hurley, both of Sanford; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 5, at 7 p.m. at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Houston Blair officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

MICHAEL JUSTIN JORDAN
CARTHAGE — Michael Justin Jordan, 35, of Carthage, died Tuesday (5/20/14).
A celebration of life will be held today at 3 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kevin McHarg and Pastor Gary Ashley officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home and other times at the home, 711 Wadsworth Road, Carthage.
He was born in Monroe on Aug. 30, 1978, to Michael T. and Beverly Cope Jordan. He worked with his father on the family farm in Carthage and was a member of Rocky Fork Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal Lynn Jordan; three children, Peyton Jordan and Bella Jordan of the home, and Brendan Simmons of Lumberton; parents, Michael T. and Beverly Cope Jordan; one sister, Nicole Strickland and husband Stacey; five nieces and two nephews.

ALTA EVERIDGE COMBS
CAMERON — Funeral service for Alta Everidge Combs, 92, of Cameron, who died Sunday (5/18/14), was conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Countryside Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dave Kinney officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery.
The congregation sang with Holly Watson on the piano. Hallie and Alexis Collins, great-granddaughters, sang a duet. Claudia Pace and Holly Walton sang with Holly Walton as pianist. Jennifer Smith, a granddaughter, and Scott Blakeley, a grandson, shared memories. Steve Bristow sang at the graveside.
Pallbearers were grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Wayne Collins, Brandon Wood, Scott Blakeley, Caleb Kelly, Cody Combs and Tommy Combs.

VIRGINIA BLACK SWAIN
LILLINGTON — Virginia “Gina” Black Swain, 93, of Lillington, died Thursday (5/22/14) at Harnett Woods Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunn.
A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Sr. and Maggie Mae Salmon Black. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sigmund Baer Swain; her sisters, Alean Yow, Flora Smith and Mary Parker; and brothers, William, Davis and Neil Black.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Summerville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Michael Simmons officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Margaret Smith and husband Jeff of Lillington; sons, Dwight Swain and wife Pam of Charlotte, and Nick Hice and wife Mildred of Greensboro; sister, Louise Quick of Sanford; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
