ARCHIE BOYCE PRICE
APEX — Archie Boyce Price, 89, of Apex, died Monday, September 30, 2013.
He was born in Kilmarnock, VA to Archie Moten Price and Mary Pearl Bridges Price on March 17, 1924. Mr. Price served in the Army Air Corp as a bomber pilot during WW11. He was a member of the Jonesboro Baptist Church in Sanford, NC, and a long serving member of the Lions Club of Sanford. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and faithful friend. He will be missed by all.
Mr. Price was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 59 years Winona Johnson Price and grandson Richard Price Gautier.
He is survived by his daughters: Tara Price of Apex, Sharon Henson and husband Michael of Temecula, CA; and grandchildren: Scott Gautier and wife Christy of King George, VA, Chris Hickman of Scottsdale, AZ, Katie Hickman of Richmond, VA, and Cory Hickman of Ashburn, VA.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 pm Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Apex Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.

GARY MORENCY EDSON
SANFORD — Gary Morency Edson, age 73, of Carolina Trace, Sanford, NC died on Tuesday, October 2, 2013 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on May 8, 1940 in Portland, Oregon to the late Robert Harold Edson and Eileen “Jackie” Morency Edson. Gary was active in his neighborhood at Carolina Trace. He was a geologist with the U.S. Geological Service, which was later called Minerals Management Service. Gary enjoyed radio controlled model airplanes, model trains, woodworking and was a master gardener.
Gary is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joan Cann Edson of Carolina Trace, Sanford, NC; two sons: Mikel Edson and wife Patti of Mocksville, NC and David Edson and wife Nicole of Slidell, Louisiana; five grandchildren: Reagan and Kylie Edson; Kacie, Austin, and Kinsey Edson.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Sanford with Wendell McGee officiating. A private family inurnment will follow at the church niche. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Miller-Boles Funeral Home in Sanford.

AARON (SARGE) DOVER
CARTERSVILLE, GA — Mr. Aaron (Sarge) Dover, 72, of Cartersville, passed away Tuesday, October 01, 2013 at his residence.
Born June 19, 1941 in Chattooga County, he was the son of the late Tiney Glenn Dover and the late Georgia Payne Dover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Dover. Mr. Dover was retired from the United States Army, having served in Germany, Vietnam, Korea and a member of the Special Forces Unit. During his career he was also employed by Union Carbide, The Cartersville Country Club and was self-employed. He was an active member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church, the Elks and the American Legion. He loved to play golf, fish and play cards.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joanne Dover; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Charla Dover and Scott and Pam Dover all of Cartersville; his daughter and son-in-law, Sonja and Mike LaBounty of Sanford, NC.; his grandchildren, Justin and wife Keena , Jessie, Mackenzie, and Samantha Dover, Taylor and Morgan LaBounty; three great-grandchildren, Mady, Kaiden and Kyrie; his twin brother, Marion Dover of Lafayette, and two other brothers, Jim and Willis Dover of Trion; his sisters, Kay Bomar and Nell Bryan of Ringgold; a beloved aunt, Katherine Brock of Trion; his uncle, Lee Payne of Felectic, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday at Rowland Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Ringwalt officiating. Interment will take place prior to the service on Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with full military rites.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

SHREVEPORT, LA — Athelene Baker Walton, 89, a native of Haughton, LA and a resident of Shreveport, LA, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
She briefly attended Louisiana Tech where she met her future husband of 67 years A.G. Walton Jr. She was an active member of Hope Community Church of God (formerly Sunset Church of God) where she was a Sunday school teacher and choir member. She loved to travel, cook, read and take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved God, her family, and church community. She was preceded in death by her husband A.G. Walton Jr., and parents Frank and Audra Baker.
She is survived by her children: daughter Jean Philyaw; son Thomas Walton and wife Marla; and son David Walton and wife Barbara; grandchildren: Chris Philyaw, Karen Philyaw, Alicia Walton, Suanne Walton, Elizabeth W. Stewart and husband Will, and John David Walton; great-grandchildren: Nick, Tyler, Jordan, Darius, and Julie; siblings: Kathy Storey and Louis Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Centuries Funeral Home on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Centuries Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Services will be presided over by Rev. Mike Hicks.

SANFORD — Memorial service for Martha Evelyn Yount Cline, who died Friday (9/27/13), was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. M. Timothy Martin and the Rev. Dr. Charles R. Huggins. A private committal preceded the memorial service in the Church Columbarium.
During the service, the congregation led by the church choir sang. Pianist was Tamara Lewis. Reflections were given by Barbara Howard and Dr. Huggins.
