OLIVIA — Jerry Grayson Womack, 76, died Monday (2/11/13) at Central Carolina Hospital.

He was born in Harnett County on Aug. 6, 1936, to the late Eugene Clifford Womack and Nancy Sharpe Womack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darius B. Womack; and sisters, Wynona W. Langley and Polly W. Barnett. He was a tobacco farmer and worked many years in security for Roberts Company and MOEN. He was a member at Swann Station Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joyce Holder Womack; three daughters, Ann W. Cotten (Chuck) of Corinth, Sandy W. Bruton (Kevin) and Ashley W. Harris (Lonnie), all of Sanford; brothers, Graham Womack (Lora) of Gibsonville and John M. Womack of Georgetown, Texas; a sister, Shirley W. Holmes (Joe) of Olivia; a sister-in-law, Marie Womack of Goldsboro; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Swann Station Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell Blackmon and Dr. Bob Brown presiding. Burial will follow at Cameron Grove Cemetery.

CAMERON — Joseph Michael Lewis, 3 months, died Sunday (2/10/13) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Clifton Lewis; his paternal great-grandfather, Joe Welch; and paternal great-grandmother, Mildred Lewis.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Spring Hill United Methodist Church. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Terry Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Shannie Moore and Michael Lewis; a sister, Summer Lewis; grandparents, Laura Beck and Jimmy Lucas, and Brenda and Charles Taylor; great-grandparents, Diane Beck, Ruby Mangum and Norman Bolton; and great-great- grandmother, Jessie Bolton.

SANFORD — Graveside service for Edith Gummo Dinkins Spell was held Tuesday at Lee Memory Gardens with the Rev. Greg Davenport and the Rev. Dennis Patterson officiating. One special song was sung by the congregation.

RALEIGH — Alvin Walton Hall, 60, of 820 Hadley Road, died Sunday (2/10/13) at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

Funeral service will be held at 12 noon Friday at Rush Metropolitan AME Zion Church in Raleigh. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until 12 noon prior to the service. Visitation will be held from 7 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.

He is survived by his father, George W. Hall Sr.; stepmother, Gloria S. Hall; one daughter, Duchess L. Hall of Raleigh; two brothers, George W. Hall Jr. and Michael W. Hall; one sister, Marion T. Fowler; one grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

SILER CITY — Mary Florence Johnson Scott, 87, formerly of 974 Barker Road, Bear Creek, died Monday (2/11/13) at Siler City Center in Siler City.

Graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Brush Creek Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Don Davis officiating.

She was born in Richmond County and had worked many years in poultry processing.

She is survived by daughters, Edna Conoly of Bear Creek and Emma Smith of Moncure; sons, David Lee Scott of Sanford, Colon Scott Jr. of Gulf and James Allen Scott of White Hill; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held today from 6 until 8 p.m. at Joyce-Brady Chapel in Bennett, and other times at the home, 974 Barker Road, Bear Creek.

CARTHAGE — Arthur Lee Lamison, formerly of Cameron, died Monday (2/11/13) at Sentara Hospital in Norfolk, Va.

Funeral service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Bryant Baptist Church in Courtland, Va. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
