BARBARA M. LINER
MARSHVILLE — Barbara M. Liner, 70, died Wednesday (11/20/13) at Hospice House of Union County.
Born May 30, 1943 in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late William Velvin Maddox and Mildred Celey Maddox. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Maddox, and a sister, Ann Fraley. She was a teacher for 35 years, served several terms on the Department of Social Service board and was treasurer for the Marshville Museum. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marshville.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Marshville. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Marshville. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Grace Chapel Church Cemetery in Sanford.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel Jack Liner Jr.; daughter, Sara Bailey; brother, Phil Maddox; sister, Sybil Fincher; and one grandchild.

MARIE AMALIA KOCH
PINEHURST — Marie Amalia Koch, 95, died Thursday (11/14/13) at Hospice House of First Health in Pinehurst.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph of the Pines Knollwood Chapel located on 592 Central Drive in Southern Pines.
Born in Port Richmond on Staten Island, N.Y. on May 12, 1918, she was the daughter of Theodore and Wilhelmina nee Guenthoer Koch and sister to Fredrick August Koch. After attending St. Peter's Catholic High School, she graduated from Notre Dame College in 1938. In 1962, she joined the Benedictine Monastery of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, Conn., and spent 10 years known as Sister Andrew, O.S.B, in contemplative prayer for the families and world she had served. She retired in 1990 and moved to Southern Pines in 1992 to be family support to her brother, a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh, Monsignor Fredrick Koch. Following his death in 1999, she spent the next 10 years in volunteer service to Moore Regional Hospital, Hospice of Moore County, Sandhills Coalition for Human Care, the Southern Pines Public Library, and various church interfaith activities. She was a resident of St. Joseph of the Pines at Knollwood, the Coventry, Zeno Villa, and the SJP Health Center.

ANN ELIZABETH TAYLOR THOMAS
VASS — Ann Elizabeth Taylor Thomas, 55, died Tuesday (11/19/13) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital of Pinehurst.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Ken Rahal officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Veterans Cemetery in West Virginia.
She was born in Charleston, W.Va., on Oct. 1, 1958, to Buddy and Libby Taylor. She served her country in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a Registered Nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Allen Thomas; her parents, Buddy and Libby Taylor of West Virginia; one sister, Vicky of West Virginia; and two brothers, Al Taylor of Pinehurst and Lee Taylor of Florida.

BROADWAY — Funeral service for Cheryl Sue “Susie” Wilson Delgiudice, 47, who died Monday (11/18/13), was conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Garland E. Smith officiating. Burial followed at the Sloan Cemetery.
During the service, taped music was played.
Pallbearers were Joseph Brown, John Morris, Ben Perez, Tony Sloan Jr., Jerrod McKinney and Allen Merritt.

PEGGY HORTON WHITTED
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Peggy Horton Whitted, 89, died Tuesday (11/19/13).
Born in Ayden, she was the daughter of the late Henry Thomas Horton and Julia Pitts Horton of Sanford. She grew up and graduated from high school in Sanford. She attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va. She was a member of Trenholm Road United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Sims Whitted, and brother, Robert Horton.

CAMERON — Robbin Brumfield, 53, of 392 Marks Road, died Monday (11/18/13) at her residence.
She is survived by her mother, Frances Cameron; three sons, DeCarlo Brunson (Emilee) and Louis Brumfield Jr., all of Fayetteville, and Willis Brumfield of the home; one sister, Jennifer E. Brunson; one brother, David Wright; one stepsister, Stephanie Johnson; one stepbrother, Leland Wright; one sister-in-law, Virginia; a special friend, Curtis (Mickey) Chance; five grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
