MARY MOZELLE CHEEK COLE
SANFORD — Mary Mozelle Cheek Cole, 89, of Sanford passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pocket Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Cole was born in Chatham County and graduated from Bonlee High School. She was a daughter of the late James William Cheek and Mary Ella Brafford Cheek. She was preceded in death by her husband, Colon Carr Cole, Jr. Mrs. Cole was a member of Pocket Presbyterian Church where she faithfully served in many areas including Presbyterian Women, youth leader, Sunday school teacher and elder. In 1998, she received an Honorary Life Membership in Presbyterian Women.
She was a longtime member of the Jonesboro Heights Order of the Eastern Star in which she held many offices including serving twice as Worthy Matron.
Mrs. Cole is survived by a daughter, Patricia Dell “Trish” Holmes and husband Dave of Raleigh; a son, James Colon “Jim” Cole and wife Jane of Sanford; one brother, Jimmy Cheek and wife Linda of Bear Creek; five grandchildren, Jennifer Cole Smith, Nicole Holmes, Patrick Holmes, Michael Holmes and Rebekah Brewer; five great-grandchildren, Cole Smith, Katelyn Smith, Thomas Smith, Lauren Brewer, and Zac Reagan; two great-great-grandchildren, Riley Reagan and Kellyn Reagan.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Cir., Raleigh, N.C. 27607; Pocket Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 669 Pocket Church Rd., Sanford, N.C. 27330; or to the charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends Sunday in the fellowship hall following the service.

LIBERTY — Robert Earl McDonald, 71, formerly of Sanford, died Friday (11/22/13) at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Franklin Earl and Sadie Bland McDonald.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. McDonald of Liberty; children, Danny McDonald of Kernersville, and Robin Snipes (Teddy) and Keith Harris, both of Greensboro, Robert McDonald Jr. and Tasha McDonald, both of Sanford, Shannon Harris of Liberty and Minister Ja'Quentin L. Harris of Jamestown; one sister, Alma McDonald of Buffalo, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. followed by funeral service at 1 p.m. at St. Stephen Ame Church in Liberty.

MARY LOU BREEDLOVE
NEW HILL — Mary Lou “Phillips” Breedlove, 67, died Monday (11/25/13) at Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh.
She was born in Wake County on Jan. 24, 1946, daughter of William Thaddeus Herndon and Annabelle Nance Fryar. She retired from Duke Hospital after 28 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, JoAnn Johnson.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Elam Christian Church in New Hill by the Rev. Benny Oakes. Entombment will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lindsey; two daughters, Alice Sehulster of Apex and Mary Yates of Moncure; one son, William Phillips of Moncure; one sister, Claudia Clayton of Apex; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one nephew.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Moncure, and other times at the home.
