KNIGHTDALE — Pearl Devon Chalmers, 58, of 103 Laurel Breeze Drive, Bldg. 930, Knightdale, died Friday (3/14/14). Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by C.E. Willie Funeral & Cremation Services.


SOUTHERN PINES — Ralph Alan Grinter, 83, died Sunday (3/9/14) at his home.

Born on Nov. 7, 1930, in Hammond, Ind. to Charles and Deborah Grinter, he was a 1953 graduate of DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. Following military service, he joined IBM Corporation and then worked for Electronic Data Systems (EDS). He served as Chief Information Officer for several large corporations before retiring to Pinehurst.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, JoAnne Goff Grinter of Southern Pines; two children, Richard Charles Grinter of Dallas, Texas, and Karen Lee Finegold of Southern Pines; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A private family memorial service will be held at the Pinelawn Memorial Park in Southern Pines.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Humane Society of Moore County, P.O. Box 203, Southern Pines, N.C. 28387.

BEAR CREEK — Graveside service for James Corbett Baldwin, 86, of Bear Creek, who died Thursday (3/13/14), was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Buffalo Cemetery by the Rev. Ira Smith.

Pallbearers were Adam Welch, Lee Welch, Jeff Standiferd, John Wilkins, Randy Wilkins and Russ Wilkins.

SANFORD — Funeral service for Devera Ann French, 45, who died Wednesday (3/12/14), was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at True Gospel United Church of God with Elder William Brewer officiating. Burial was at Lee Memory Gardens.

Soloists were Tiesha Jones and Cynthia McEachin.

Pallbearers were family and friends.

RALEIGH — William Otis Tuck Jr., 64, of 210 Apt. D, Park Ave., Raleigh, formerly of Sanford, died Friday (3/14/14) at home.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Stevens Center in Sanford.

He is survived by his parents, William Otis Tuck Sr. and Bernice Tuck; his children, William Tuck III (Donna) and Clarinda (Rex), all of Sanford, Kyron (Lisa) of Annapolis, Md., Kedar of Bronx, N.Y., and Keishia, Dee Dee, and Lucy, all of Annapolis, Md.; one sister, Dianne (Harry) of Sanford; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
