CORNELIA "CORNIE" HONEYCUTT

HAW RIVER — Mrs. Cornelia “Cornie” Honeycutt, 86, of 3281-A Phillips Chapel Road, Haw River, NC Passed at 3:15 pm on Friday (8/23/13) at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gaston County and worked for several years at Sellars Manufacturing and B. Everett Jordan Elementary School.

She was a member of Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church, Good Sam Camping Club, and Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church Women’s Missionary Union.

Surviving are her daughters Brenda H. Womack (and husband G.C. “Oggie”) of Sanford, N.C. and Sharon H. Edwards (and husband Jerry) of Haw River, N.C.; sister Jackie B. Davis (and husband Donald) of Eli Whitney, N.C.; brothers Howard Barrett (and wife Frances) of Graham, N.C. and Darrell Barrett (and wife Marie) of Graham, N.C.; grandchildren Cheri Freeman (and husband Harry) of Sanford, N.C., April Gerringer (and husband Jamie) of Graham, N.C. and Patrice Baker (and husband Chris) of Graham, N.C.; and great-grandchildren Harry, Cameron and Evan.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Lloyd Honeycutt, parents Curtis Barrett and Pearl Baker Barrett, step-mother Wilma Barrett, Sister Patsy B. Davis, and granddaughter Samantha Patterson.

The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral Home, at 1030 S. Main Street, Graham, NC 27253, on Sunday (8/25/13) from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., and other times at the home of Sharon and Jerry Edwards, at 3281 Phillips Chapel Road, Haw River, N.C.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday (8/26/13) at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church, at 5750 Church Road, Saxapahaw, NC 27340.

Burial will follow in the Moore’s Chapel Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. David Yarborough and Rev. Ricky Donaldson. The family of Mrs. Honeycutt would like to extend a special thank you for all the help, phone calls and prayers during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Fund or the Children’s Play Grounds Fund.

FAYE ALEASE STONE EADS

SANFORD — Faye Alease Stone Eads, age 81 of Sanford passed away on Friday (8/23/13) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.

Faye was born Jan. 22, 1932, in Chatham County, N.C., to the late James Edgar Stone and Gertie Melton Stone. She was a devoted and loving wife to her husband and traveled extensively with him during his time of service in the United States Air Force. Faye was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was a compassionate caregiver to both her family and extended family. She loved and raised many animals throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Eads of Sanford; three sons, Stephen Eads (and wife Kathy) of Cayce, S.C., Gary Eads (and wife Shirley) of Sanford, N.C., and Terry Eads (and wife Rita) of Dunn, N.C.; four granddaughters: Donna Eads and Stephanie Eads both of Cayce, S.C.; Sherry Eads and Courtney Eads both of Dunn, N.C.; and a brother, James Thomas “J.T.” Stone of Sanford, N.C. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sherry Gail Eads; two brothers Caley Stone and Guy Stone; and a sister, Cornelia Gonella.

A funeral service will be held Monday (8/26/13) at 2 p.m. at Miller-Boles Funeral Home Chapel in Sanford with Rev. Eddie Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery in Sanford. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m.

FRANCES ANN WILLIAMSON OLDHAM

CARTHAGE — Frances Ann Williamson Oldham, 63, of Carthage died Saturday (8/24/13) at First Health Hospice House in Pinehurst.

Services are planned for 2 p.m. Monday at Priest Hill Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Archie Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Moore County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Elma Williamson. She was retired from the N.C. Home Extension Agency and worked the last six years for Moore County Schools as a lead teacher at the Vass Lakeview Day Care Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Mack Williamson.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Windo Kelly (W. K.) Oldham Jr.; sister Wanda Hardy of Carthage; brother Charles T. Williamson of Vass; mother-in-law Louise Oldham of Carthage; six loving nieces and one nephew; two great nephews and one great niece.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday (8/25/13) at Priest Hill Presbyterian Church.

SUSIE ‘MARIE’ CHESNEY

SANFORD — Susie “Marie” Chesney, 93, of 1901 Pickard Road in Sanford, died Wednesday (8/21/13) at her home.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday (8/25/13) at Watson Memorial-Cunningham and Sons Mortuary, at 310 W. Courtland Drive. Service will be 3 p.m. Monday (8/26/13) at Poplar Springs AME Church, located at 1261 Blackstone Road in Sanford. Internment will follow at the church cemetery.

She is survived by four daughters, Ann Faulcon of Gardenis, Calif., and Helen Dorsett (William), Catherine Marsh and Mary A. Chesney, all of Sanford; two sons, Ernest Chesney (Valorie) and Floyd Chesney (Marcel), both of Sanford; God-daughter Regina Wilson (Maurice) of Hope Mills; two sisters, Sarah Chesney (Albert) and Ruby Battle (Howard), both of Sanford; two brothers, Willie Farris Snipes (Gertrude) and Haywood Snipes (Barbara), both of Sanford; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.

REV. LLOYD GARLAND ASHBY

SANFORD — Funeral service for Rev. Lloyd Garland Ashby, 82, of Sanford, who died Wednesday (8/21/13) at Westfield Nursing and Rehabilitation, was conducted Saturday (8/24/13) a 2 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scottie Jackson, Pastor Ray Bodin and Rev. Max Shoaf officiating.

Eulogies were given by Sharon Jackson and by Ashby’s son, David Ashby. Burial followed at Lee Memory Gardens with military honors.

A duet consisting of Darlene Jackson and Sharon Jackson sang, with Darlene Jackson playing the piano. Soloist and Pianist was Joyce Hair. Recorded music by Howard Bumgardner and Jason Crabb was also played.

Pallbearers were Jason Ashby, Jason Beane, Charles Gunter, Mike Barbour, Bobby Barbour, Kenneth parker and Halford Fore.

Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

 

NANCY THOMAS CAMERON

CLEMMONS — Nancy Thomas Cameron, 76, of Clemmons and formerly of Harnett County, died at her home on Friday (8/23/13).

She was the daughter of the late Hiram and Cornelia Clark Thomas and Jessie Holloway Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Cameron and by brothers Roy Thomas, Holloway Thomas and William Thomas Sr. She is survived by sisters Phyllis Anne Thomas and Betty Rogers; brother Branton Thomas; sons Taft Cameron (Faye), Thomas Cameron and Michael Cameron (Debbie); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Nancy was a 1953 graduate of Boone Trail High School and was retired from U.S. Airways, formerly Piedmont Airlines. Nancy’s favorite past time was being outside working in the yard.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday (8/26/13) at O’Quinn-Peebles Chapel in Lillington, with Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Hospice & Palliative CareCenter in Winston-Salem, to the Forsyth Humane Society in Winston-Salem, or to the charity of your choice.

DIANE M. MORRISON

SANFORD — Diane M. Morrison, 55, of 1103 Goldsboro Ave., in Sanford died Thursday, (8/22/13) at her residence.

She is survived by her sons David Morrison Jr. (Ruthie) and Anthony Morrison (Kimberly); brother Donnie Sanders; sisters Doris Sanders and Annie Buie (Denza); brother-in-law Tick Johnson; five grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday (8/26/13) at Works For Christ, at 1395 Fire Tower Road in Sanford. Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.
