MILLIE YOW GADDY

SANFORD — Mrs. Millie Yow Gaddy, 62, of Sanford, N.C., died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Mrs. Gaddy was born in Lee County, N.C. on April 29, 1950, to the late Leon Yow and Ruth Cameron Yow. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Gaddy; a stepson, Tripp Gaddy and wife Jamie of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a sister, Donna Yow Matthews and husband Harry of Stone Mountain, Georgia; and two grandchildren, Olivia and Jacob.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 4, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

The funeral will be Friday, April 5, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chris Humphreys and the Rev. Royce Baker officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

VIRGINIA DICKENS HUNTER

BROADWAY — Mrs. Virginia Dickens Hunter, age 87, of Broadway, N.C., died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at UNC Hospitals.

She was born and raised in Harnett County, NC on September 30, 1925 to the late Rufus Dickens and Vonnie Thomas Dickens. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Jones Hunter and all her siblings predeceased her: Lily Dickens, Gertrude Hallman, Leadie Hallman, Inez Honeycutt, Refus Dickens, George Dickens, Mack Dickens, Ruby Gooch and Betty Lou Shelton. Mrs. Hunter worked many years as a cosmetologist.

She is survived by her son, Elmer Jones Hunter Jr. and wife Janet of Broadway; grandchildren, Shawn P. Hunter and wife Wendy and Dacia Hunter LaBounty and husband Tim; great-grandchildren, Madison B. Hunter, Conley J. Hunter and Corbin E. LaBounty; beloved nieces, Debbie A. Kindle and Anette S. Hockaday and husband Alan; great-nephews, Adam Kindle, Brian Kindle and Brent Hockaday and his wife April and their son Grant.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Baptist Chapel Church and the funeral will be Friday, April 5th at 3 p.m. at Baptist Chapel Church with Pastor Alex Smith presiding. Burial will follow at Broadway Town Cemetery.

THOMAS BERNARD ROBINSON

SANFORD — Thomas “Tom” Bernard Robinson, 80, died Friday, March 29, 2013 in Sanford.

He was born on February 19, 1933 in Olean, New York to the late James and Delia Robinson.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Tink Robinson and one sister, Edith Mulvey.

He is survived by three sons, Robbie, Paul and John Robinson; one daughter, Susan Litchfield; three brothers, Harry, Jim and Victor Robinson; also survived by eight grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Sanford Police Department, Sanford Rescue Squad and the CCH-ER for all of their assistance.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Tom's name to a charity of your choice.

SANFORD — John Richard Fortenberry Sr., 63, died Tuesday (4/2/13) at his home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.

SANFORD — Funeral service for James Farion Wilson, 56, who died Sunday (3/31/13), was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Linda Patterson officiating. Burial followed at Lemon Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Recorded music was played and soloists were Ashley Wilson and Halford Patterson. Eulogy was given by LaRue Wilson.

Pallbearers were Willie May, Darrell Austin, Von Lee, William Davis, Shane Hall and Joe Godfrey.

SILER CITY — James A. Paige, 74, of Ervin Headen Road, died Wednesday (4/3/13) at his home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Knotts & Son Funeral Home of Siler City.

ABERDEEN — Nettie Jane Fiddner, 69, died Tuesday (4/2/13) at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Bethesda Cemetery in Aberdeen. The family will receive friends from 11:30 until 1 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.

She was born July 15, 1943, in Geneva, Fla., to Lettie Daisy Knight and Theron Beldon Thomas Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Theron Beldon Thomas Jr.

She is survived by daughters, Teresa Ann McCaskill and husband Michael of Aberdeen, and Linda Sue Eckliff and husband Harold of Cameron; son, Richard Wayne Fiddner of Cameron; brother, Gene Thomas and wife Barbara Thomas of Pinebluff; sister-in-law, Elsie Thomas of Pinebluff; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
