JOHN RICHARD FORTENBERRY SR.

SANFORD — John Richard Fortenberry Sr., 63, died Tuesday (4/2/13) at his home.

He was born in Jefferson Davis, Miss., son of the late Walter Isaac Fortenberry and Charlotte Carson Fortenberry.

Funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway with the Rev. Janet Buffaloe officiating.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Flitcraft Fortenberry; daughter, Melissa Faith Dodds (Chris) of Moncure; sons, Timothy Michael Fortenberry (Amy) of Broadway and John Richard Fortenberry Jr. of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; sister, Beverly F. Flitcraft (Ronald) of Pennsville, N.J.; brothers, Walter Fortenberry (Marlene) of Yorktown, Va., and William Fortenberry (Belinda) of Pennsville, N.J.; and eight grandchildren.

REV. ROYZELL DOLLIE GOLDSTON

PITTSBORO — Funeral service for Rev. Royzell Dollie Goldston, who died Thursday (3/28/13), was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Alston Chapel United Holy Church in Pittsboro with Elder Jerry Powell officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.

The church choir sang.

Pallbearers were Johnny Goldston, Jason Neal, Byron Headen, James Goldston, Eric Goldston and De’Sean Nettles.

Arrangements were by Knotts Funeral Home.

LEE DONALD PARKER

LILLINGTON — Lee Donald Parker, 53, died Tuesday (4/2/13).

He was the son of Ellis Lee Parker and Gertrude Hawley Parker, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his brother, Anthony Parker of Wilmington; sister, Gina P. Pierce of Lillington; and one niece.

Visitation will be held at Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers today at 4:45 p.m. with the memorial service following at 6 p.m.

RUBY LEE KELLY

SANFORD — Ruby Lee Kelly, 85, of 610 West Humber St., died Monday (4/1/13) at Central Carolina Hospital.

She is survived by a sister, Lillian Frances Kelly Lanier (Hasty Sr.); several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Star Of Hope Freewill Baptist Church. The Wake will be an hour prior to the funeral at the church. Entombment will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Star of Hope FWB Church Home Missionary Society.
